Job Description:
GDIT is seeking a Sr. Network Administrator to support the National Institute of Health (NIH) Center for Information Technology (CIT). In this role you will work with customers and engineers to perform hardware refresh and network support of the NIH network in support of customer requirements. The Refresh Team primarily works on access layer switches but can include wireless access points, UPS devices and other network equipment.
HOW A SR NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
- Address day-to-day refresh requirements with Team
- Perform port mapping and port configurations
- Upload IOS to network devices
- Configure network devices to NIH standards
- Rack and Stack equipment
- Perform cabling of copper and fiber wiring
- Create Change Requests for refresh maintenance tasks
- Update tickets and perform tasks with the SLA's
- Coordinate refresh maintenance tasks with customers and users and provide updates
- Perform requirements gathering for refresh maintenance tasks

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree
Required Experience: Minimum of three years related experience
Required Technical Skills:
- Minimum of three years network refresh support experience
- Familiarity with Cisco Nexus, Cisco Catalyst switches, and ASR -9k
- Good understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF)
- Familiarity with access control models and network security
- Good understanding of network operating systems (e.g. JUNOS, Cisco IOS)
- Expertise in ServiceNow and Change Management Processes
Security Clearance: Must have an active NIH Public Trust
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to lift/move heavy network equipment up to 50 pounds
Preferred Skills:
- Any related professional certifications (e.g. CCNA, CCDA)

The likely salary range for this position is $89,250 - $120,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
