From endpoints, networks, and cloud to emails, and beyond, Heimdal offers advance detection and response capabilities, ensuring complete security coverage.

The role

We are looking for a skilled and experienced .NET Developer with a passion for building high-performance, cross-platform systems. You will be designing and developing a next-generation cybersecurity agent for Linux, built on .NET 8.

You will have a solid background in .NET development and a good understanding of the Linux ecosystem, allowing for seamless end-to-end integration.

We're open to candidates anywhere in Romania.

  • In Bucharest: work from home or visit the office when you’d like.
  • In other cities: work fully remote — we’ve built strong online onboarding and collaboration practices.

Responsibilities

  • Product Ownership: Take full technical responsibility for a new agent-based product targeting Linux systems. You’ll define and evolve its architecture, delivery pipeline, and integrations.
  • Design & Develop: Build a cross-platform system daemon in .NET 8+, optimized for Linux environments (Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat)
  • Linux Integration: Interface with system-level components (package managers, daemons, logs, etc.) to provide seamless and native-like behavior.
  • Security Focus: Collaborate with internal cybersecurity teams to ensure secure design and implementation across all layers of the agent.
  • Automation: Use Linux scripting (Bash) to streamline deployment, debugging, and operational tasks.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work alongside DevOps, backend, and security engineers to align on architecture and deployment strategies.
  • Prepare for Growth: Help onboard additional team members (developers, QA) as the product evolves, and guide technical direction.
  • Documentation & Quality: Maintain clear documentation, and contribute to testing and code quality strategies.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of hands-on experience with .NET Core / .NET 8+
  • Strong C# fundamentals with experience building and deploying cross-platform or backend services
  • Linux experience: While you don't need to be an expert from day 1, you should preferably be comfortable developing and debugging on Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat) including working with system services and terminal tools
  • Experience with Bash scripting for automation, deployment, or operational tasks.
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals and secure software development principles.
  • Experience building and deploying cross-platform applications using .NET.
  • Familiar with REST APIs, microservices, and general principles of scalable backend communication.
  • Self-driven, structured, and capable of working independently in a startup-like environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience building software agents or system daemons.
  • Exposure to low-level Linux internals, system calls, or inter-process communication.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure as code.
  • Experience working with containerized applications (e.g., Docker).
  • Cloud exposure (Azure, AWS, or GCP).

Benefits:

  • Regina Maria health plan.
  • Monthly budget in the Benefit platform (800 RON/month).
  • Additional company-paid days off ("Personal Day" and "Anniversary Days").
  • Reimbursement for glasses expenses according to company policy.
  • Referral bonus.
  • Bookster and LinkedIn Learning subscriptions.
  • Personal and professional development (trainings and certifications).
