Our mission at BOLDSCIENCE is to disrupt the Medical Communication and Healthcare Advertising industry by offering the most complete suite of industry leading scientific, creative, and digital expertise under one roof. Our vision is to create the most memorable programs that inspire change – helping healthcare companies to improve patients’ lives.
We're hiring a senior designer/animator to lead creative execution on medical communications projects. This is a hands-on individual contributor role for someone with enough experience and instinct to run independently from day one. You'll own work through multi-month engagements that include rigorous med-legal review cycles, and you'll be trusted to make real-time creative, leading projects from start to finish.
DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead concept development and translate briefs into clear visual direction by creating and presenting mood boards and style frames
- Design assets and storyboards across a range of project tiers
- Produce animation work that meets a high creative bar
- Operate through five-month project arcs with near-daily involvement during med-legal review phases
- Serve as a primary creative point of contact, fielding questions and resolving issues without escalation
- Make strategic creative judgment calls in the moment — including knowing when to take a risk and having a backup plan ready
SKILLS:
- Concept development, with the ability to articulate visual ideas eloquently
- Asset design, with the ability to create, modify, and prep original assets for animation
- Storyboard design, with the ability to layout clear design hierarchy for scenes that tell a story through motion
- Animation, with the ability to create high-quality motion that is both purposeful and impactful, ensuring audiences are entertained and informed in an engaging way
- Video editing experience, desired but not essential
- Pre-production and production experience
WHO YOU ARE:
- Senior-level experience with a portfolio that demonstrates range across project tiers
- Self-directed —you can jump into a project with general direction and guidance, take ownership, and lead the project from start to finish
- Passionate about the craft and committed to keeping your skills sharp
- Comfortable owning outcomes, including the audibles you call along the way
- Collaborative, but able to operate solo in the heat of a project
ENGAGEMENT MODEL:
Projects typically run ~5 months and require sustained daily involvement, especially through med-legal review. You should expect to be deeply embedded. Confident making key decisions, executing high level quality videos, and leading projects to the finish line
