Senior Mobile Engineer (Founding)

Counsel Health is an AI-enabled, physician-supervised virtual care company on a mission to multiply the world’s clinical capacity. We believe in a future where every person has a perfect doctor in their pocket, always available, infinitely knowledgeable, and deeply personalized.

To achieve this, we’re building the first fully vertical, AI-enabled medical group from the ground up, redesigning the entire clinical stack with custom AI tools that make our in-house physicians faster and smarter without compromising security or patient safety.

Since our founding in 2023, Counsel has partnered with leading employers, health plans, health systems, and channel partners, serving 100K+ members and on track to reach 1M+ more over the next 12 months. We have raised over $35M from a16z, GV, and other top-tier investors, and are on pace to 5x revenue this year.

Our founding team includes senior physicians and technology leaders from Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital, UCSF, the MIT Media Lab, and Mount Sinai. Our broader team, coming from Stripe, NVIDIA, and Google DeepMind, is growing quickly, and we’re looking for exceptional people to join us at this inflection point.

We are seeking a talented, driven, and experienced Senior Founding Mobile Engineer to join us in defining the future of AI + human healthcare.

As our founding Mobile Engineer, you will have significant ownership and responsibility for our mobile product, with the opportunity to shape the direction of our engineering organization. You will work cross-functionally with product, clinical, and engineering teams as we lead the future of AI in clinical care.

We prefer candidates who can work from our office in New York or Boston, but we are open to strong remote applicants. Our current mobile stack uses React Native and Expo and we have published apps on iOS and Android.

• Develop patient-facing features on our mobile app to enhance our AI-powered care delivery experience

• Build and lead a high-performing mobile engineering team to shape the future of our mobile app

• Scale mobile infrastructure with an emphasis on stability, performance, and data privacy

• Provide clear technical direction and sound decision-making frameworks to guide the evolution of our mobile platform

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in startups or fast-moving companies in mobile development

• Expert in our tech stack: React Native, TypeScript

• Familiarity with cross-platform iOS and Android native development

• Experience scaling consumer mobile applications to serve hundreds of thousands of users

• Strong opinions about best practices improving your own engineering skills and the team’s performance. Open to feedback and proactive in enhancing the team’s capabilities.

• You are a self-motivated, creative doer who takes ownership of broad initiatives and drives them to completion, navigating ambiguity with ease

• You have hands-on experience building from the ground up in fast-paced, high-growth environments, with experience at early-stage companies or through personal projects
