Pioneering Carbon Conversion and Renewable Energy Systems
Location: Franklin, TN (On-Site)
Type: Full-Time
Experience Level: Mid to Senior
Located just outside Nashville, TN, Enexor is a fast-moving early-stage climate tech company building small-scale, waste-to-value systems that convert organic and plastic waste into renewable energy and high-purity CO₂. We’re not just innovating—we’re disrupting the status quo.
Why Join Us?
- Mission-first impact: Help turn waste and emissions into energy and carbon-negative value streams.
- Hands‑on innovation: Engineers here don’t just design—they build, test, iterate, and deploy real systems.
- People over process: We move fast, cut red tape, and trust smart, driven individuals to take ownership.
- High-value team: We hire the best; we challenge each other; we win together.
If you're ready to move beyond the drawing board and make real-world impact, come help shape the future of distributed energy and carbon conversion systems.
The RoleWe’re hiring Senior Mechanical Engineers and a Mechanical Engineering Manager to support the design, development, and deployment of our next-generation waste-to-energy system and our post-combustion carbon capture system. These roles will focus on subsystem design, cross-functional integration, and end-to-end ownership of mechanical program execution.
These positions are ideal for senior-level engineers and technical leaders who thrive in a fast-paced, hardware-driven environment. You'll be involved from initial concept and design through fabrication, testing, and deployment.
Key Responsibilities- Design, model, and test mechanical subsystems for gas separation, thermal systems, and pressure environments.
- Integrate capture modules with upstream flue gas sources and downstream conditioning units.
- Own full mechanical lifecycle from concept through CAD, DFM, BOM, sourcing, and assembly.
- Use tools like INVENTOR, ANSYS, ASPEN, and MATLAB to optimize design performance.
- Lead testing and validation: build rigs, instrument systems, collect data, and iterate fast.
- Collaborate with process, controls, and fabrication teams to ensure seamless system integration.
- Support design-to-cost strategy and scaling for manufacturability.
RequirementsRequired Qualifications
- B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- 3–10 years of mechanical design and systems integration experience.
- Strong proficiency in 3D CAD (Autodesk Inventor preferred) with working knowledge of FEA and CFD.
- Demonstrated ability to take systems from concept to prototype to deployment.
- Hands-on experience with piping, pressure systems, structural frames, or heat exchangers.
- Solid analytical and first-principles problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with swing adsorption systems (e.g., PSA, VSA, or similar gas separation technologies).
- Background in flue gas treatment, gas purification, or emissions control systems.
- Familiarity with containerized or modular systems for field deployment.
- Experience in techno-economic analysis or cost-driven design.
- Certifications such as P.E., PMP, or MBA are beneficial but not required.
BenefitsCompensation & Benefits
- Equity opportunity in a fast-scaling, venture-backed climate tech company.
- Competitive salary based on experience and impact.
- Health insurance stipend (QSEHRA) and 401(k) plan.
- Paid vacation and holidays.

What We Do
Enexor BioEnergy ("Enexor") provides on-site, renewable energy solutions to help solve the world's organic and plastic waste problem. Enexor's patented bioenergy system derives value from organic waste by producing 24/7 continuous power and thermal energy for facilities and microgrids worldwide. Enexor's Bio-CHP™ system, the Bio-200™, generates 75kW of power and 125kW of thermal energy while offsetting harmful greenhouse gas emissions. Enclosed within a 20-foot custom shipping container, the Bio-200™'s strategic design is deployable next to a retail store in the United States, hurricane exposed areas in the Caribbean, or a village in Africa. Enexor manufactures its systems at its headquarters in Franklin, Tennessee, a Nashville suburb. Enexor's mission is to create renewable onsite bioenergy from organic and plastic waste to power facilities worldwide.
