Position Overview
GTI is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and technical execution of complex mechanical systems for modular infrastructure projects. This role owns mechanical design from concept through production and provides technical leadership across engineering, manufacturing, testing, and product development. May require up to 10% travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design of structural frames, enclosures, equipment layouts, weldments, sheet metal assemblies, and integrated mechanical systems
- Define design approaches that support reliability, serviceability, manufacturability, installation, and transportation
- Coordinate mechanical interfaces with electrical, thermal, fluid, and control systems
- Perform and review engineering calculations supporting structural, thermal, fluid, and mechanical performance
- Lead design reviews, prototype builds, testing, troubleshooting, and root cause investigations
- Evaluate design risks, failure modes, and corrective actions
- Provide technical guidance to engineers and designers
- Work with manufacturing teams to resolve production issues and improve design quality
- Support engineering standards, documentation, revision control, and continuous improvement

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience
- Experience owning complex mechanical systems or major assemblies from concept through production
- Strong experience with fabricated structures, equipment packaging, and production-ready design
- Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software
- Experience performing and reviewing engineering calculations
- Experience with modular infrastructure, industrial equipment, power systems, HVAC, or equipment enclosures
- Experience with structural analysis, thermal systems, piping, FEA, or CFD
- Background in fabrication, custom manufacturing, New Product Introduction, or technical leadership
