As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will join a multidisciplinary industry team working on large-scale projects within the food, chemical, energy, and industrial manufacturing sectors. This role focuses on developing sustainable engineering solutions involving electrification, energy efficiency, piping systems, process installations, and industrial infrastructure.
This opportunity is aimed at South African professionals who are willing and able to fully relocate to the Netherlands.
Lead mechanical engineering activities within multidisciplinary industrial projects.
Design and develop piping systems, industrial installations, and utility networks.
Translate client and process requirements into practical, manufacturable engineering solutions.
Prepare, review, and approve mechanical engineering designs and technical documentation.
Develop specifications and select appropriate mechanical equipment.
Review supplier documentation and technical submissions.
Identify project risks, opportunities, and engineering improvements.
Collaborate closely with project managers, lead engineers, and other engineering disciplines.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and intermediate engineers.
Support project implementation and commissioning activities when required.
Contribute to projects focused on:
Industrial electrification
Energy efficiency improvements
Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR) systems
Electric steam boiler installations
Sustainable plant upgrades
Integration of new technologies into operating production environments
Utilize modern engineering software, automation tools, and AI-assisted design technologies to improve project delivery and efficiency.
RequirementsMinimum Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree (BEng/BSc/BTech) or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Approximately 10 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
Experience within an engineering consultancy, EPC environment, or industrial manufacturing plant.
Strong background in mechanical engineering within industrial facilities.
Demonstrated experience with piping engineering and industrial installations.
Experience leading technical aspects of multidisciplinary projects.
