Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Position Summary:

Milacron is looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Batavia, OH. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for solving problems using advanced concepts, defining/modifying/creating engineering designs, leading compliance to standard processes, resolving technical issues, and ensuring own and supporting others’ work and ensure on-time, error-free designs for Milacron’s extrusion products.

Work You’ll Do:

• Work independently and alongside team to solve technical problems and deliver engineering solutions with minimal direction

• Understand and convert requirements into engineering work products

• Respond to requests from Manufacturing, Sourcing, Quality, and other functional groups

• Maintain a working knowledge of Milacron extrusion products, particularly twin and single extruders and their subsystems

• Maintain knowledge of cross-functional business processes

• Sets priorities for workflow according to assembly schedules and new product development timelines

• Develop and propose solutions to difficult problems

• Ability to travel domestically 10% of the time to customer and vendor sites

Team:

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer reports to the Director of Extrusion Machinery & Systems and will join a team of 3 engineers specializing in design of Milacron’s extrusion systems.

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of progressive design engineering experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related

• Working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Product Data Management (PDM), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Computer-Aided Design (CAD), and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software

• Knowledge of various industrial machining, heat treatment, fabrication, and additive manufacturing methods

• Understanding of and practical experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne ERP, Creo PDM, Windchill PLM, Solidworks, and Ansys CFD preferred
