Job Description

Position Summary

We are looking for a dedicated, agile marketer to join our Digital & Direct Marketing team. As a Senior Marketing Specialist, you will help develop and execute marketing campaigns that convert prospective pet parents into members.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll bring a balance of creative thinking, strategic problem-solving, and analytical decision-making to campaigns. You’ll identify opportunities to improve customer journeys and audience segmentation, develop compelling messaging, test new ideas, and use performance data to continuously optimize our communications.

Our ideal candidate has a bias for action, strong ownership, and a get-stuff-done mindset. You’re comfortable moving from strategy and ideation to copywriting, campaign execution, testing, and performance analysis.

This position is open to candidates in the Seattle, WA area. You will have a hybrid remote/in-office schedule where you will work from our casual, pet-friendly office at least 3 days a week.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop acquisition-focused communication strategies across digital marketing channels, with a primary focus on email and SMS.
  • Identify and develop new customer journeys while continuously improving existing journeys through better timing, sequencing, messaging, and channel coordination.
  • Partner with the eCommerce team to ensure email and SMS experiences connect seamlessly with the broader digital customer journey.
  • Write and edit compelling, customer-focused copy for email and SMS communications, translating marketing objectives into clear, engaging messages.
  • Own campaigns from brief through execution, including copy development, audience setup, build, testing, approvals, and deployment.
  • Develop and execute A/B tests across messaging, content, calls to action, cadence, and other campaign elements to drive conversion improvement.
  • Use customer behavior, campaign performance, and test results to identify opportunities, make recommendations, and continuously optimize communications.
  • Monitor campaigns after launch, proactively identifying performance issues and taking action to improve results.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of relevant marketing experience, preferably in lifecycle, CRM, email/SMS, acquisition, or performance marketing.
  • Demonstrated experience developing marketing strategies, customer journeys, messaging, and customer-facing copy designed to drive action and conversion.
  • Hands-on experience building, launching, and optimizing email and/or SMS campaigns within a marketing automation or CRM platform.
  • Experience with audience segmentation, personalization, triggered communications, and automated customer journeys.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing A/B tests and using results to improve campaign performance.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use campaign and customer data to identify insights, make recommendations, and take action.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for analyzing marketing performance and customer data.
  • Experience with email development and HTML/CSS is preferred.
  • Experience with project management tools such as Asana is preferred.
  • Experience with Google Analytics or other digital analytics platforms is a plus.
  • Email design experience, including familiarity with tools such as Figma, Photoshop, or Illustrator, is a plus.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Think strategically and execute tactically, turning business objectives and customer insights into effective marketing campaigns.
  • Use data to make decisions, evaluate performance, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Write compelling, customer-focused copy that stands out from the crowd, communicates value clearly, and motivates prospects to take action.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment and adapt quickly to change.
  • Manage multiple projects and competing priorities while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.

Compensation:

  • The salary range for this position is $95,000 - $100,000 on a full-time schedule.
  • Along with the base salary, Trupanion employees may be eligible for monthly bonuses.
