About Mentors International

Every entrepreneur we serve has a name, a family, and a dream. Mentors International exists to make that dream possible. We are a global nonprofit dedicated to empowering micro-entrepreneurs in low- and middle-income countries — pairing aspiring business owners with trained mentors and the financial tools they need to build something lasting. Operating across 30+ countries with 12 global offices, we served more than 43,000 families last year, and we're just getting started.

The Opportunity

Mentors International is entering an exciting new chapter of growth — and we need a gifted storyteller and strategic marketer to help us tell our story to the world.

As Senior Marketing Manager, you will own the Mentors International brand across every channel: its voice, its visual presence, and the stories it tells. This is a hands-on, high-impact role at the intersection of mission and marketing. You'll play a central part in implementing a brand refresh — including new positioning and messaging, a flagship video, and a full website rebuild — while also running the day-to-day marketing that deepens donor relationships, expands our audience, and brings our global impact to life for a US-based donor community.

This is a remote, full-time position that may require occasional international travel. You will report to Mentors International's VP of Growth.

Who You Are (Ideal Candidate)
  • Connected to the Mission: Something in your own life experience drives your passion for Mentors International’s mission and vision. You don't just market a cause — you believe in it.

  • “Full-Stack” Marketer: You're equally comfortable setting strategy and writing the email yourself. You don't just design lifecycle campaigns — you craft the copy, pull the list, and check the metrics the next morning.

  • Strong Storyteller: You can craft stories that inspire behavior change in others. You can take a raw testimonial from Peru and shape it into a story that moves a donor to give.

  • Data-Informed Creative: You possess a strong grasp of effective creative work while also having the ability to accurately measure its impact.

  • Organized & Proactive: You operate effectively and independently, manage competing priorities without dropping the ball, and bring structure to ambiguity.

  • Visionary & Strategic Thinker: You are curious and challenge the status quo, thinking outside the box to meet the end goal.

  • Meticulous & Precise: You understand that trust is built in the details. Whether it is verifying data in donor reports or proofreading a donor email, you sweat the small stuff because every external touchpoint reflects the organization's credibility.

What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)

Brand Strategy & Messaging

  • Lead the charge in implementing a brand messaging refresh to start a new chapter in the organization’s growth and further its global impact

  • Oversee the development of the flagship video and website rebuild — core components of the brand expansion

  • Develop and maintain foundational messaging assets: organizational narrative, elevator pitches, talking points, and key impact statements

  • Create holistic marketing strategies across various channels, including social media, digital marketing, lifecycle, and global events

  • Develop a strategy for reaching new donor segments, including micro-donors and audiences across the United States

Content Creation & Storytelling

  • Serve as the organization’s "Chief Storyteller": gather raw testimonials and data from mentors and entrepreneurs in the field and transform them into polished, emotional stories for a US-based donor audience

  • Oversee the creation of all creative assets, ensuring high-quality output and brand consistency across digital and print mediums, including annual reports, donor stewardship reports, and pitch decks

  • Maintain a content calendar aligned to fundraising cycles, organizational milestones, and key donor events

Campaign Management

  • Provide materials and support to the Development team in planning donor events, such as the annual gala, to ensure world-class experiences and storytelling

  • Manage donor lifecycle campaigns through segmented email marketing and physical mailings

  • Lead the marketing execution for partner initiatives, specifically the Giving Machine program, ensuring all creative and logistical marketing needs are met to maximize campaign success

  • Manage the Mentors International website, ensuring content is fresh, SEO-optimized, and the user experience drives donations

  • Manage social media presence (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook), creating content calendars that balance impact reporting, educational content, and calls to action

Analytics & Optimization

  • Implement and monitor key marketing KPIs using industry best practices

  • Leverage data to inform strategy, report on performance, and continuously improve

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing roles, ideally with non-profit organizations

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate the organization's mission and impact to diverse audiences

  • Demonstrated experience managing a brand end-to-end, from strategy through execution

  • Experience managing external creative agencies or vendors

  • Proficiency with email marketing platforms and CRM-integrated marketing tools

  • Comfort with data: ability to synthesize program metrics into clear, compelling impact narratives

  • Passion for international development, entrepreneurship, and educational programs
