Overview


About the Role: 

We’re looking for a Senior Social Strategist who will develop and implement the strategy for our Instacart-owned social channels. This ideal candidate should have proven expertise across Organic and Paid Social, as well as experience in Influencer and Affiliate Marketing. 

In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with the Brand, Creative, Product, Media, Legal and Comms teams to develop breakthrough social-first campaigns across seasonal, product-driven and brand marketing efforts. You’ll also partner with our Associate Creative Director of Social, and our Director of Brand & Culture to reinvent our social strategy including evergreen content themes, creator engagements/partnerships, and our approach to reactive cultural/trending moments. 

This is a remote-based full time position that will report to the Head of Consumer Marketing. 


About the Job:

This is an exciting opportunity to form and execute a best in class social media program from the ground up, partnering with a newly hired ACD and a team of Creatives and Community Managers to help build brand love for Instacart in culture.

  • Collaborate closely with the newly hired ACD of Social to conceptualize, champion, develop and execute Instacart’s holistic social strategy & presence. This plan should be rooted in creativity and backed by data/performance.
    • This will include strategic playbooks & content plans for both the brand channels and adjacent efforts, such as Shopper Social, Caper Carts, etc. 
  • Collaborate closely with our Paid Social, Influencer and Affiliate teams to develop a cohesive strategy, helping Instacart to show up with one consistent voice across the funnel, fueling a flywheel from social engagement to growth 
  • Collaborate with social platform reps to ensure Instacart is up to speed on the capabilities of each platform. 
  • Collaborate closely with the ACD of Social and Director of Brand & Culture to quickly identify, ideate and take action on reactive opportunities, moving at the speed of culture.


About You

  • You are a natural student and consumer of social media and culture. If it’s happening in the zeitgeist, you’re aware and interested. 
  • You have proven experience building a social media strategy and successful social-first programs that have achieved significant follower growth and cultural attention.
  • You are an expert in social media tools such as Sprinklr, Sprout Social, Meltwater, etc.
  • You are able to synthesize learnings and optimizations based on performance trends, across organic and paid social.
  • You are a natural leader and are eager for the opportunity to build a best in class program from the ground up. 
  • You are naturally curious and see opportunity in every moment developing in the cultural zeitgeist in real time.


Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience, 5+ in Social Media
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact at senior levels of the organization
  • Strong collaboration skills and a proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Nimble, resourceful, and detail-oriented; thrives in a collaborative work environment
  • A growth mindset with a high standard for quality.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience and expertise with social media tools such as Sprinklr, Sprout Social, Meltwater, etc.
  • Proven experience building a social media strategy and successful social programs that have achieved significant follower growth and cultural attention.
  • Proven experience developing reactive creative that has driven social conversation and earned media attention.
