Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manufacturing Manager to support the BDS Fabrication team in Ridley Park, PA!
The Senior Manufacturing Manager will drive operational excellence, support the development and scaling of all fabrication capabilities, and ensure alignment between production goals, quality standards, and business objectives. As a key leader within BDS Fabrication, this position partners cross-functionally to accelerate innovation, improve efficiency, and strengthen manufacturing readiness across programs and the site.
Position Responsibilities:
- Leads and develops a high-performing team of employees and mid-level managers across multiple manufacturing disciplines within the BDS Fabrication
- Defines and executes integrated strategies, policies, and operating plans that advance enterprise manufacturing capability, standardization, and process excellence
- Establishes business and technical objectives aligned to fabrication priorities, including innovation, repeatability, scalability, and operational performance
- Secures and allocates resources to support fabrication capability development, technology maturation, and execution of strategic initiatives
- Provides leadership and oversight of suppliers, partners, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure effective execution of fabrication solutions
- Champions process improvement, knowledge transfer, and best practice deployment to strengthen fabrication maturity across programs and the site
- Builds and sustains strong partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and direct reports to enable collaboration and alignment on fabrication goals
- Reviews and approves technical approaches, products, and processes to ensure they meet performance, quality, and readiness requirements
- Coaches, develops, and motivates employees and managers to build organizational capability and support long-term talent growth within the fabrication team
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 10+ years' experience working in or supporting a manufacturing environment
- 5+ years of people management experience, to include responsibility for performance management and career development of direct reports
- 5+ years of experience driving improvements across safety, quality, delivery, cost, innovation, and people on production and development programs
- 5+ years of experience with schedule and budget management, stakeholder communication, as well as understanding of execution of program planning to ensure cost, schedule and requirements are met
- 5+ years of experience in a leadership role driving organizational and operational change management
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor's degree or higher, or equivalent military experience
- 3+ years of experience working with composites and/or composite manufacturing
- Experience working with collective bargaining agreements and/or a union represented workforce
