About the role:

As Senior Manager, UX Operations, you will lead horizontal enablement efforts across UX focused on the people, practices, systems, and tools that support a growing and evolving UX organization. UX Enablement helps create the conditions for practitioners to do their best work by building scalable programs, guidance, and support that strengthen how teams learn, connect, collaborate, and deliver across Target’s business priorities.

This is an exciting time to support the evolution of UX. As our organization adapts to an AI-first product development environment, you will help teams build new skills, evolve workflows, and continue to champion human-centered design in a world where people, AI-enabled tools, and emerging agent-based systems increasingly work together. You will help define where new capabilities can strengthen the practice, how roles and ways of working may evolve, and what guidance, learning, and operating models teams need to adopt these changes responsibly and confidently. You will partner closely with Product, Technology, and enterprise enablement teams to build shared initiatives that improve product development, capability-building, team engagement, and value delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop UX Enablement strategies, priorities, and operating mechanisms for a team focused on practice enablement, learning, communications, change management, people initiatives, and team health

  • Coach, develop, and guide UX Operations team members, helping them translate complex organizational needs into scalable programs and practical frameworks

  • Lead change management efforts that help UX practitioners adapt to evolving roles, emerging capabilities, new workflows, and shifting expectations across Product and Technology

  • Define guidance, governance, training, and adoption strategies that support responsible and effective use of AI across the UX organization

  • Champion scalable learning experiences, playbooks, practice guidance, workshops, and feedback loops that help teams build confidence and adopt new ways of working

  • Develop integration models that help UX teams responsibly embed AI-enabled capabilities, agentic systems, and human-in-the-loop workflows into established UX practices and product development rhythms

  • Guide the thoughtful use and adoption of UX tools as one component of a broader enablement strategy, partnering with Technology, Procurement, Finance, and enterprise operations teams to support evaluation, licensing, budget planning, adoption, governance, and responsible use

About you:

  • 7+ years of experience in Design Operations, Design Program Management, or with inhouse or agency product design teams

  • Experience leading teams, coaching talent, setting direction, and creating the conditions for people to do high-quality, meaningful work

  • Experience leading change across a large, matrixed organization, with the ability to influence stakeholders, build alignment, and drive adoption across teams with different needs and priorities

  • Strong understanding of UX practices, design tooling, product development workflows, and the operational systems needed to support design, research, content, and accessibility at scale

  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, vendors, licensing, contracts, or operational investments in partnership with Finance, Procurement, Technology, or enterprise operations teams

  • Comfort working in an AI-first environment, with curiosity and practical judgment around how emerging tools can improve UX workflows, documentation, communication, learning, and operational efficiency

  • Highly collaborative and relationship-oriented, with the ability to influence across UX, Product, Technology, HR, Learning & Development, Finance, and senior leadership

  • Systems thinker who can connect team needs, business priorities, technology constraints, and organizational culture to design thoughtful, scalable solutions
