    • Design insurance and reinsurance structures and assess the technical suitability of proposed insurers, reinsurers and other counterparties.
    • Translate product requirements from Partnership into practical underwriting terms and insurance arrangements.
    • Work with the Actuarial Manager to interpret pricing models, assumptions and sensitivity analysis, incorporating actuarial findings into underwriting decisions.
    • Review policy and reinsurance wording and coordinate contractual implementation with Legal to ensure the intended coverage and risk allocation are reflected in the documentation.
    • Participate in technical discussions with insurers, reinsurers, brokers and partners to resolve coverage, wording and structuring requirements.
    • Establish and maintain underwriting assessment templates, technical approval records, referral criteria and underwriting guidelines.
    • Monitor portfolio performance, including pricing adequacy, claims experience, exposures and emerging risks, and recommend appropriate underwriting actions.
    • Report technical turnaround, rework, capacity constraints and material exceptions to the CUO, using case reviews and portfolio experience to improve underwriting practices.

Requirements

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU:

    • At least five years of relevant general insurance or reinsurance technical underwriting experience, including assessment of non-standard risks or insurance arrangements.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and evaluate coverage, exclusions, limits, risk allocation and insurance and reinsurance structures.

    • Strong collaboration and delivery leadership, including the ability to prioritise competing demands and communicate dependencies early.
    • Respect for professional actuarial judgment, combined with accountability for the technical stream’s delivery and continuous improvement.

NICE TO HAVE
