The Chief Operations Office (COO) is the strategic centre and engine room of the Group, focused on delivering efficient processes relating to the origination, production, validation and fulfilment of transactions and trades across the Group as well as key regulatory programs. About the role
We’re looking for someone curious and motivated to help shape the future of AI at CBA. Reporting into the Executive Manager, AI, Data & Analytics Strategy, you’ll work on high-impact projects that improve customer experience and business performance. You’ll collaborate with senior leaders across business, technology and operations and be supported by a team that values learning, diverse thinking and personal growth.
In this newly established hybrid role, you'll join a high-performing team responsible for shaping and delivering strategic priorities across Fraud, Scams, Financial Crime and Operations. You'll partner with senior leaders to develop strategy, drive execution and deliver initiatives that accelerate the adoption and impact of Data, Analytics and AI across COO. Success will require strategic problem-solving, stakeholder engagement and the ability to translate ideas into meaningful business outcomes. Experience in AI, Data or Analytics is advantageous, but not essential.
Your Responsibilities
Contribute to the development, refinement and execution of COO's Data, Analytics and AI strategy, supporting a transformative agenda across the Group.
Develop strategic analysis, recommendations and executive-ready materials to support decision-making, governance and delivery of key priorities across COO.
Partner with senior stakeholders to identify opportunities, solve complex business problems and translate strategic priorities into tangible initiatives that deliver measurable value.
Lead and execute end-to-end strategic projects, including problem definition, stakeholder engagement, research, analysis, synthesis of insights and recommendation development.
Facilitate workshops and ideation sessions, helping shape innovative solutions and drive alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.
Contribute to the prioritisation of AI initiatives across COO, ensuring investment decisions align to strategic objectives and business outcomes.
Help drive AI adoption and organisational readiness by partnering with teams across COO to embed Data, Analytics and AI capabilities at scale.
Your Skills & Experience
Experience in business strategy consulting at a major consulting firm or corporate in-house strategy function.
Exposure to the financial services sector is a plus.
Experience in creating technical strategies for large organisations; excellent problem-solving skills.
Ability to self-start, take ownership, work independently and drive outcomes on complex strategic cases, with demonstrated structured problem-solving capability and hypothesis-led thinking and analysis.
Exceptional verbal and written communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
An ability to inspire and influence others, with a proven ability to create a vision and build shared purpose across matrix reporting structures.
Exposure to Data, Analytics and AI (desirable not essential).
