About This Role:

The Senior Manager, Strategic Finance & Global Functions FP&A is a pivotal role that merges operational finance planning and analysis with strategic finance support. Positioned within the Global Product and Strategy & Commercialization (GPS&C) organization, you will engage with senior FP&A leaders and executives across Research & Development, Commercial, and Corporate Functions. Your work will encompass budgeting, forecasting, consolidation, and close processes, while also providing strategic finance partnership for the Global Immunology franchise. This role is crucial in driving financial rigor, accuracy, and transparency, ensuring disciplined execution and strategic judgment across the development and commercialization lifecycle. As a trusted finance partner, you will contribute significantly to investment decision support, valuation, and modeling, impacting strategic decisions and the overall business structure.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and planning activities for designated GPS&C functions.
  • Deliver timely and accurate monthly and quarterly management reporting, highlighting risks and opportunities.
  • Act as a trusted advisor providing financial insights for resource allocation and operating decisions.
  • Drive financial discipline through effective planning, control, and execution.
  • Provide strategic finance decision support, including business case reviews and vendor contract evaluation.
  • Ensure accuracy, integrity, and documentation of financial records and business cases.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for GPS&C.
  • Support consolidation efforts and prepare earnings materials and flux analysis.
  • Play a key role in the Day 5 Close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and compliance with accounting policies.
  • Support ad hoc finance projects as needed.
  • Serve as a finance partner to Immunology asset teams in development and commercialization.
  • Support investment proposals through objective financial analysis, valuation modeling, and scenario modeling.
  • Provide financial input for strategy and governance decisions. Clearly articulate asset financial positions, risks, and recommendations.
  • Develop long-range asset profit and loss outlooks for global forecasting.
  • Support franchise strategy and enterprise planning activities.
  • Partner with regional finance teams to understand local asset strategies, performance, and risks

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, audit, or related roles.
  • Advanced experience with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to convey impactful stories using data.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and partner across functions.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, operate with urgency, and perform under tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to apply an 80/20 mindset where appropriate.
  • Strong foundation in financial analysis, modeling, valuation methodologies, and financial theory.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution.

Preferred Skills:

  • Advanced degree or professional certification (MBA, CPA, MS).
  • Knowledge of drug development and the biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Prior experience in investment banking, strategic finance, or biopharma industry roles.
  • Experience with Oracle, Hyperion, and Business Objects.

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is: $128,000.00-$172,000.00


Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.

Regular employees are eligible to receive both short term and long-term incentives, including cash bonus and equity incentive opportunities, designed to reward recent achievements and recognize your future potential based on individual, business unit and company performance.
