As a Senior Manager of Site Reliability Engineering at JPMorgan Chase, you are the non-functional requirement owner and champion for the applications in your remit. You are a key influencer in your team’s strategic planning process with a focus on driving continual improvement in customer experience, resiliency, security, scalability, monitoring, instrumentation, and automation of the software in your area. Job Responsibilities
- Shows expertise in site reliability principles and demonstrates what it means to strike the balance between features, efficiency, and stability
- Negotiates with your peers and executive partners to ensure optimal outcomes for all
- Drives the adoption of site reliability practices throughout the organization

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Demonstrates advanced proficiency in site reliability culture and principles and can demonstrate how to implement site reliability across application and platform teams while avoiding common pitfalls
- Experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technological issues on an organizational level
- Influences the team’s culture by championing innovation and change for success
- Experience hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
- Proficient in at least one programming language such as Python, Java/Spring Boot, .Net
- Proficient knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a given technical discipline (e.g., Cloud, AI, Android, etc.)
- Proficient with continuous integration and continuous delivery tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or Terraform
- Experience with container and container orchestration: (ECS, Kubernetes, Docker)
- Experience with troubleshooting common networking technologies and issues
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Ability to code and demonstrate data fluency to encourage the team to work more effectively
- Strong understanding of release engineering practices, GitOps, branching strategies, and change management discipline
- Experience with incident management, on-call operations, capacity planning, and reliability engineering practices
- Experience authoring pipeline configuration (for example, YAML) and infrastructure templates (for example, Terraform or ARM)
- Demonstrated ability to assess risk, remain calm under pressure, and drive clear
- AWS and Azure experience preferred; Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) exposure is a plus
Skills Required
- Formal training or certification on site reliability engineering concepts and advanced applied experience
- Proficient in site reliability culture and principles and familiarity with implementing SRE within applications or platforms
- Proficient in at least one programming language such as Python, Java/Spring Boot, or .Net
- Working knowledge of using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to support SRE workflows with strong validation and data sensitivity awareness
- Ability to validate AI-assisted operational recommendations, escalate when uncertain, and follow data sensitivity and risk controls
- Proficient knowledge of software applications and technical processes within relevant technical disciplines (cloud, AI, etc.)
- Hands-on experience supporting cloud and data platforms, including AWS (EC2, Athena) and Snowflake, with a reliability-first mindset
- Experience in observability: white/black box monitoring, SLO alerting, telemetry collection using Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk, AppDynamics
- Experience with CI/CD tooling (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Terraform)
