We are seeking a hands-on, Senior Software Engineer Lead - SAP to lead global SAP transformation with a strong focus on SAP BTP, S/4HANA, automation, and next-gen application development. This role demands deep technical fluency in ABAP OOP, SAP HANA, UI5/Fiori, CDS modeling, and cloud-native integration, along with the leadership acumen to drive innovation across a complex enterprise.
Job responsibilities
Strategic & Technical Leadership
- Define SAP strategy for S/4HANA, BTP, and legacy platforms to align with digital goals.
- Lead modernization focusing on agility, automation, user experience, and cloud transformation.
Hands-On Architecture & Development
- Deliver full-stack solutions on SAP BTP using CAP, RAP, Fiori Elements, and API Management.
- Oversee ABAP OOP implementations, including RAP model, enhancements, and unit testing.
- Lead custom SAP UI5 app development and Fiori Launchpad configuration.
- Architect HANA-native solutions using CDS Views and performance-optimized models.
- Deploy automation and AI solutions like IRPA bots and ML-driven workflow enhancements.
Cloud & Integration Architecture
- Design hybrid/cloud-native SAP environments on AWS, Azure, or GCP with DevOps practices.
- Drive real-time integrations using SAP Integration Suite.
Governance & Program Delivery
- Manage S/4HANA programs, upgrades, and harmonization, ensuring compliance with SOX and GDPR.
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and lead global SAP teams, collaborate with business stakeholders, and manage vendor relationships.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, 2 + years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
- Deep hands-on expertise in:
- SAP S/4HANA, ECC, and BTP ecosystems
- ABAP OOP, RAP/CAP models, CDS Views, HANA-native development
- UI5/Fiori, OData, SAP Launchpad services
- SAP IRPA, AI Core, Workflow, Business Rules Framework
- SAP Integration Suite (CPI, API Management, Event Mesh)
- DevOps, CI/CD (Git, Jenkins, ATC), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
- Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, security, and compliance frameworks.
- Educational Qualification: BTech/BE/MS degree or equivalent experience
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- SAP certifications in S/4HANA, BTP, or Integration
- Experience in regulated, data-intensive industries (e.g., Banking, Pharma, Manufacturing)
- Familiarity with SAP ALM, SAP Build, Integration Solutions like Kafka
