Salary Range: $134,720 - $168,400

Position Summary
Accountable for the performance, prioritization, and overall results of the Distribution Engineering and Scheduling Groups. Identifies and resolves technical, operational, and organizational problems. Leads and initiates teams for continuous process improvement by establishing clear direction and vision.
Responsible for reviewing and ensuring adherence to the integrated master schedule of jobs to be designed under Electric Distribution Operations for all Capital, Maintenance, Reliability, and Customer work.
Collaborates with the Manager of Performance and Budgets, Manager of Programs and Joint Use, Distribution Standards Group, Electric Operations Supervisors, Manager of Regional Operations, and Stores to achieve Electric Operations goals.
Ensures jobs are designed in accordance with AVANGRID Integrated Distribution Construction Standards and consistent use of Integrated Compatible Units. Provides guidance on codes, standards, regulations, tariffs, and procedures. Assists with storm restoration efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Distribution Engineering Oversight — Responsible for day‑to‑day oversight and management of Supervisors in Distribution Engineering, Field Planning, and Integrated Planning & Scheduling. Identifies areas for continuous improvement and develops strategies, goals, and initiatives.
- Master Schedule Management — Ensures adherence to the master schedule of design jobs and timely release of work orders for Distribution construction projects. Identifies roadblocks and communicates adjustments to the Manager of Integrated Planning and Scheduling. Monitors and adjusts workload/resource balance.
- Project Coordination — Plans, organizes, coordinates, and controls projects. Acts as liaison with customers, departments, vendors, government agencies, property owners, and other utilities. Reviews, recommends, or approves major projects.
- Regulatory Support — Provides data collection and cost information for regulatory proceedings, inquiries, filings, Rate Cases, and legislative initiatives.
- Budget & Resource Oversight — Reviews financial models, monitors budgets, and oversees personnel to ensure efficient resource use.
- Technical Guidance — Responds to technical requests by collecting, investigating, and analyzing data, testing information, and developing solutions.
- Operations Support — Works with Operations Supervisors on customer inquiries, complaints, equipment issues, and operational problems, providing guidance as needed.
- Employee Development — Develops employees to enhance personal development and leadership skills.
- Performance Evaluation — Evaluates results produced by individuals and teams; accountable for Engineering and Scheduling team performance.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration — Promotes teamwork across functions on assigned tasks and projects.
- Policy & Safety Compliance — Promotes and follows company policies and procedures regarding safety, ethics, and performance.
Skills and Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or energy‑related major with 7 years relevant experience preferred, OR Associate’s degree in engineering or energy‑related major with minimum 10 years relevant experience.
- 5+ years of supervisory or managerial experience.
