About The Role

We are seeking a technically strong and analytical Senior Manager, Procurement to drive data-informed decision-making and optimize equipment selection across our projects, with a focus on electrical systems and emerging technologies. 

Partnering closely with the Director of Procurement, you will lead technical vendor evaluation, support value engineering efforts, and influence strategic supplier decisions. This highly cross-functional role works closely with engineering, field teams, and vendors to improve cost, performance, and scalability while advancing data-driven procurement practices. 

Responsibilities

  • Serve as subject matter expert for electrical equipment.
  • Evaluate and validate technical specifications for procurement decisions.
  • Support value engineering efforts in collaboration with engineering and field teams.
  • Identify and assess new technologies, vendors, and equipment solutions.
  • Lead technical vetting of suppliers and equipment.
  • Develop performance benchmarks and evaluation frameworks for vendors.
  • Support vendor selection and procurement strategy through technical analysis.
  • Partner with Director of Procurement on strategic supplier decisions.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting (in collaboration with technical resources).
  • Drive adoption of data-driven decision-making across procurement.
  • Identify opportunities to improve procurement efficiency, cost, and performance.
  • Introduce new tools, methodologies, and frameworks for procurement optimization. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (electrical preferred), supply chain, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in procurement, engineering, or technical sourcing.
  • Strong experience with solar equipment (inverters, transformers, switchgear, etc.).
  • Experience supporting or leading technical evaluation of vendors and equipment.
  • Proven ability to influence decisions through data and analysis.
  • Advanced Excel; experience with Power BI or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (Dynamics preferred).
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and engineering documentation systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into business decisions.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in solar, energy, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Exposure to battery storage systems or emerging energy technologies.
  • Engineering background (electrical strongly preferred).
