This role:
Simtra BioPharma Solutions is seeking a proactive and results-driven individual to join our team as the Senior Manager of Procurement In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all procurement activities at our Bloomington, Indiana site, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality direct materials, controlling procurement costs, and fostering strong relationships with our suppliers.
Its responsibilities:
- Procurement Leadership: Lead and manage all direct and indirect procurement activities for the Bloomington site, including sourcing, purchasing, and supplier management. Also support the VP of Global Procurement & Supply Chain on any strategic initiatives that impact the site.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and alignment with Simtra BioPharma Solutions' goals and objectives.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all direct materials procured meet our stringent quality standards, working closely with suppliers to address any quality issues or concerns promptly.
- Cost Management: Implement cost-effective procurement strategies to optimize costs while maintaining high-quality standards, continuously seeking opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Supply Chain Optimization: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline procurement processes, enhance supply chain efficiency, and mitigate risks.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor supplier performance metrics, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and implement corrective actions as necessary to drive continuous improvement.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and policies governing procurement activities, maintaining accurate records and documentation as required.
Desirable qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or related roles required
- Pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience required.
- Strong understanding of procurement best practices, supplier management principles, and quality assurance processes.
- Proven track record of successfully managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and driving cost savings initiatives.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards, such as FDA regulations and cGMP guidelines, is preferred.
