Position Overview

Pearpop is seeking our foundational People Partner with 6+ years of experience to lead our human resources function and shape the people strategy for our rapidly growing, 50 person team. In this critical leadership role, you will oversee the entire employee lifecycle, ensure compliance across California and multi-state operations, and build scalable HR processes to support our pre-IPO trajectory. You will foster a dynamic, creator-driven culture, manage multi-state payroll and PEO partnerships, and align HR initiatives with Pearpop’s mission to deliver impactful solutions. Reporting to the CEO, you will play a pivotal role in scaling our team and driving engagement in the influencer marketing space.

Key Responsibilities
  • Employee Lifecycle Management: Oversee onboarding, performance management, and offboarding, ensuring a seamless experience for exempt and non-exempt employees.

  • Compliance and Employment Law: Ensure adherence to California and multi-state employment laws, including wage and hour regulations, for both in-person and remote employees.

  • Payroll Administration: Manage multi-state payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance, with experience working through Professional Employer Organizations (PEOs).

  • People Processes: Design and implement HR processes, including performance management systems, compensation benchmarking, and career development frameworks.

  • Culture and Engagement: Foster Pearpop’s dynamic, inclusive culture, aligning HR initiatives with our creator economy mission and high-growth environment.

  • HR Compliance: Maintain compliance for hybrid and remote work, including policies for workplace safety, remote work agreements, and employee relations.

  • Facilities Management: Welcome new hires to the workplace, ensuring a positive first impression, and oversee facilities to maintain a secure, clean, and functional environment, including coordination of office safety protocols, cleanliness standards, and up-to-date compliance posters.

Required Skills and Experience
  • 6+ years of HR experience, with a strong background as an HR Generalist managing the full employee lifecycle.

  • Deep understanding of California and multi-state employment laws, ensuring compliance for diverse work arrangements.

  • Proven experience administering multi-state payroll, ideally through PEOs, with accuracy and efficiency.

  • Demonstrated success hiring and managing both exempt and non-exempt employees in a fast-paced setting.

  • Experience working with multiple PEOs to support recruitment, benefits, and compliance.

  • Skilled in building and implementing people processes, such as performance management and compensation benchmarking.

  • Knowledge of in-person and remote HR compliance, including policies for hybrid work environments.

  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate across creative, tech, and business teams.

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in media technology or creative services industries, familiarity with the creator economy or influencer marketing landscape.

  • Comfortable thriving in a high-energy, ever-changing startup environment with a growth mindset.

  • Knowledge of HR tech tools to streamline processes.

Employment Details
  • Location: Hybrid, based in Los Angeles.

  • Employment Status: Full-time, permanent position.

  • Reports to: CEO

Compensation - $100,000 - $125,000 base salary (DOE)
