About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager in Packaging Procurement (m/f/x) to join our Magna Corporate Purchasing Europe team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing the commodity strategy for packaging commodities.
The position is based in Graz, Austria.
Your Responsibilities

  • Developing and executing the commodity strategy for packaging, in alignment with the company's overall strategic objectives
  • Monitoring and analyzing market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings, risk mitigation, and process improvements
  • Preparation of request documents and associated bids
  • Evaluation of offers, negotiation, and presenting results to the sourcing board and management
  • Leading the negotiation, contracting processes, and supplier relationships for packaging commodities
  • Developing, negotiating, and concluding individual and framework agreements
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to generate commodity synergies and achieve the best possible outcomes for stakeholders
  • Working closely with the European Purchasing teams across Magna Groups
  • Enhancing existing templates and tools to effectively present projects and savings
  • Improving data quality in existing systems
  • Leading and managing a team of logistics professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure successful execution of strategies and projects


Who we are looking for

  • Proven track record of several years in procurement and sourcing within the automotive industry, with specific experience in Packaging
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field
  • Experience in organizing cross-functional teams in a matrix organization


Your preferred qualifications

  • Excellent negotiation and contract management skills, with a focus on driving cost reduction and supplier performance improvement
  • Solid understanding of supply chain management principles
  • Strong expertise in commodities strategy definition and implementation
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at various levels
  • Team leader skills, with the ability to lead and inspire a team of professionals
  • Independent work style, hands-on mentality, and analytical thinking
  • Fluent in both written and spoken German and English. Additional languages would be beneficial
  • Proficient in MS Office and SAP
  • Willingness to travel as required

The minimum annual remuneration package for this position is EUR 70.000,- with corresponding qualification. The actual salary is higher and depends on your education and specific work experience.
