We are hiring for a Sr Manager, Oracle Fusion Applications to join our growing team!

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, highly skilled Sr. Manager, Oracle Applications to serve as the senior techno-functional owner of our Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials and Supply Chain footprint, within our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), SCM, EPM, and OCI organization. This is a hands-on, leadership role with no immediate direct reports — the person in this seat is the senior-most functional authority on the team, but does not carry formal people-management responsibility at time of hire.

This role serves as a critical bridge between Finance, Operations, and IT, and as the primary point of escalation for functional issues that require senior judgment — above the level typically handled by AMS/vendor support. In addition to hands-on configuration, solution design, and troubleshooting, this role owns the functional roadmap in partnership with the Director, participates directly in AMS/SI vendor governance, and represents Enterprise Applications in front of Finance and Supply Chain leadership. As the organization insources additional scope from our Application Managed Services provider, this role is expected to be the foundation a small functional team is built around.

What Would You Do? The Specifics.

Functional Ownership & Roadmap

  • Serve as the senior functional owner and subject-matter authority for Oracle modules: AP, GL, FA, SCM, PO, and PA in Oracle Cloud (Fusion).
  • Partner with the Director, Financial Systems to build, prioritize, and continuously manage the ERP/SCM improvement roadmap.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for functional issues beyond the scope of AMS/vendor support — including issues requiring cross-module judgment or business-risk assessment.
  • Configure, maintain, and optimize module setups including chart of accounts, ledger configurations, subledger accounting (SLA) rules, payables options, asset books, and procurement policies.
  • Partner with business owners to gather requirements, conduct fit-gap analyses, and deliver solutions aligned with Oracle best practices.
  • Support and participate in system upgrades, patches, and quarterly Oracle Cloud release reviews.

AMS/Vendor Governance

  • Participate directly in Application Managed Services (AMS) governance — including triage of incoming work, prioritization against the FlexOps/enhancement backlog, and quality review of vendor-delivered configuration and reporting changes.
  • Serve as a working-level counterpart to the AMS provider's functional leads, ensuring consistent standards and knowledge continuity between internal and vendor-delivered work.

Month-End Close (MEC) Support

  • Provide dedicated support during monthly, quarterly, and year-end close cycles, ensuring all financial processes complete accurately and on schedule.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve AP invoice holds, payment processing issues, GL journal import errors, FA depreciation exceptions, and PA cost allocation problems.
  • Coordinate with accounting teams to resolve issues in real-time during close windows, minimizing business disruption.
  • Document MEC procedures, known issues, and resolution steps to build a sustainable knowledge base.

OTBI & BI Publisher Reporting

  • Design, develop, and maintain Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence (OTBI) analyses, dashboards, and reports for Finance, Procurement, and Project stakeholders.
  • Build BI Publisher (BIP) reports including payment templates, invoice aging reports, asset schedules, PO status reports, and project cost reports.
  • Translate business reporting requirements into optimized OTBI subject areas and custom report objects.
  • Train end users on self-service OTBI report creation and dashboard navigation.

Integration Support & Troubleshooting

  • Support and troubleshoot integrations between Oracle and third-party systems.
  • Review interface error logs, identify root causes, and coordinate fixes with technical developers, the Solutions Architect, and business teams.

Technical & Configuration Activities

  • Write and execute SQL queries against Oracle database tables for data validation, issue investigation, and ad-hoc analysis.
  • Leverage Oracle Cloud configuration tools to manage setups across responsibility definitions, approval workflows (BPM), lookups, and flexfields.
  • Support FBDI data loads for mass uploads of invoices, journals, assets, purchase orders, and project transactions.
  • Review and interpret Oracle technical documents, patch notes, and API documentation as needed.

Collaboration, Stakeholder Management & Project Delivery

  • Act as a trusted liaison between Finance/Supply Chain business leadership, IT, the Solutions Architect, QA, and external Oracle implementation partners.
  • Lead system enhancement projects, including requirements gathering, system design, UAT coordination, and go-live support.
  • Develop and maintain functional design documents (FDDs) and training materials.
  • Engage directly with Oracle Support (SR management) for escalated product issues.
  • Represent Enterprise Applications in stakeholder meetings with Finance and Supply Chain leadership when the Director is unavailable or delegates representation.
  • Mentor AMS/vendor resources, BRM leads, and any future junior analysts on functional standards, documentation practices, and Oracle leading practice, in anticipation of formal people-management responsibility as the team grows.
