Job Description

You support sourcing for spend categories-including sourcing execution and stakeholder management-to maximize the total value of ownership for the organization. You also work closely with local business and global spend category teams to ensure best practice sharing and driving value for the organization.
How you will contribute

  • Support the Regional and Global strategy formulation for Transportation and the Full Logistics Scope, plus Implement it across North America Region.
  • Lead the thought leadership for Logistics Innovation, working with other regional to support the fast and most appropriate innovation in NA CS&L. e.g. Electric Trucks
  • Lead the Supplier Performance Excellence program for NA, provide insights to the global team where needed
  • Project Manage the Cash Flow and Productivity tracking for global & regional GSM.
  • Be the Point of Contact externally for any Purchase Partnerships (i.e. any relationships with other, non-competing, FMCG companies that we discuss benchmarking opportunities with)
  • Lead the Sustainable Energy Strategy development for NA, working closely with the Energy lead for NA.
  • Maintain & develop a robust inflation model & mechanism, providing insights and data to the regional & global teams.
  • Ensure Strategy and Projects Execution; Drive Productivity and DPO improvement through Simplification, Scale, and Operational Excellence for all categories in NA Logistics & REFM
  • Be part of the SCR & SND Initiatives in NA and be the key point of contact for strategy related topics. This role will be part of the SND leadership team.
  • In charge of Bids, negotiation and acting as first point of contact for the CS&L Regional and Local leads, the Market and Suppliers for Transportation and where appropriate other areas.
  • Control Procurement logistics negotiations across North America Region: Transportation Inbound (Raw and Pack) and Outbound (Finished Goods), all modes (IM, OTR, Rail, Air, Sea).
  • Lead Regional logistics projects and acting as procurement point of contact for all categories (Transportation, Warehouse and DSD)
  • Elaborate Bid documentation (Bid Records/Waivers and SAF) and send documents for approval as per the Procurement Policy definitions.
  • Participate as active player in Global initiatives and ensure the correct follow up and implementation.
  • Work with Legal department to set up the corresponding contracts and ensure its compliment and standardization across North America Region.
  • Be responsible for market analysis as demand and capacity volumes, inflation, industry insights, market trends and act as a key element on building the annual transportation budgets.


Job Responsabilities
Analyze Category Spend (5% of Time)

  • Control category spend and it drivers by analyzing internal profiling, economic factors and costs to provide visibility of key drivers and prioritize


Understand Business needs (10% of Time)

  • Extract short/mid/long term business requirements by communicating with key stakeholders (Goals, Trends, e.g.) to guarantee that the strategy is aligned with the business


Analyze Industry (15% of Time)

  • Know the market by communicating with suppliers (visits, logistics fairs, magazine) to understand the key players and improve negotiations


Develop sourcing strategy (25% of Time)

  • Describe robust sourcing strategy by establishing statements, goals, positioning and approach to keep focus and guarantee desired results


Execute sourcing strategy (20% of Time)

  • Executing strategic BIDs by implementing sourcing strategy to optimize results and guarantee over deliveries


Change management (5% of Time)

  • Develop transition (supplier or operational model if applicable) by working together with stakeholders to guarantee flawless execution


Manage suppliers (5% of Time)

  • Follow up results by following up KPIs and stakeholders meetings to keep improving results and relationship with players & team

What you will bring

  • Experience working with virtual teams (Min 2 YR)
  • Logistics expertise: Warehouse and Transportation (Min 5 YR)
  • Project Management (Min 2 YR)
  • Experience working with sourcing tools such as Bravo Solution and Trade Extensions or similar (Min 2 YR)
  • English - Native
  • Spanish - Fluent desirable

  • Confident, creative and comfortable communicating at all levels
  • High levels of empathy and understanding as well as a good degree of personal authority and professionalism

More about this role
Education / Certifications: Bachelor's degree required; Degree in Business, Engineering and Logistics preferred .
Master's degree preferred.
Travel requirements: 5%-10%
Work schedule: Monday to Friday. Hybrid role.
