Senior Manager, IB&M Business Reporting - 12 Month Opportunity

Institutional Banking and Markets Finance supports CommBank’s Institutional Banking and Markets business by providing financial control, analysis, insight, product control, regulatory accounting, project delivery and strategy implementation support.
As Senior Manager, IB&M Business Reporting, you will play an important role in strengthening the way IB&M Finance delivers accurate, timely and meaningful reporting for the Global Markets business. You will help drive the enhancement and productivity agenda across business reporting, ensuring key information is produced efficiently, understood clearly and used to support better business outcomes.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining financial analysis, reporting discipline, process improvement and stakeholder engagement to deliver practical, commercially valuable insights.
The IB&M Finance Business Reporting team manages client and product reporting for the Global Markets business. Sitting within this team, the IB&M Product Reporting function provides daily aggregated P&L reporting, month-end management information, expense reporting, budgeting and forecasting, and ad hoc analysis.
You will report to the Executive Manager, IB&M Business Reporting and work closely with Product Control, Global Markets Business Heads and COOs, Client Solutions, IB&M Finance, Group Finance, Risk Management, Enterprise Services and other stakeholders across CBA.
In this role, you will help improve the quality, efficiency and control of reporting used across management, capital and risk-adjusted return reporting.
You will be responsible for:
- Driving business outcomes by building strong, trusted relationships with Finance and business stakeholders
- Supporting the production and control of actual, budget and forecast data used for management and capital reporting
- Enhancing reporting infrastructure so product reporting teams can deliver accurate, useful and timely information
- Identifying opportunities to streamline reporting processes, remove waste and improve productivity
- Documenting processes through standard operating procedures, process mapping and consistent controls
- Delivering analysis that highlights key areas of focus and supports the business in driving risk-adjusted returns
- Supporting deep dives, special projects and ad hoc analysis as required
- Partnering across multiple teams and divisions to improve reporting outcomes and support better decision-making
- Demonstrated experience in accounting, financial management, budgeting, forecasting, performance reporting and analysis
- Strong analytical capability, with the ability to identify key issues, trends and themes
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Strong general ledger systems and reporting experience
- A continuous improvement mindset, with a focus on simplifying processes and improving outcomes
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work effectively across teams, functions and business areas
- Excellent communication skills, with a clear, open and transparent style
- Strong commercial acumen, attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality outcomes
- A customer-focused approach and the ability to provide business-valued output and analysis
- High energy, curiosity and interest in the opportunities and challenges within finance
- Experience with SQL, Tableau and/or Power BI will be highly regarded.
You will also bring:
- CA or CPA qualification
- A business-related degree, ideally in commerce, economics, business, finance or accounting
- Knowledge of the institutional or investment banking industry
