Senior Manager of Food Manufacturing Quality Assurance

About Us:

We are an innovative consumer goods company, recently expanded into the beverage sector with a groundbreaking Thirsti system, alongside a new line of flavor pods. Our commitment to quality and safety, particularly in adherence to FDA regulatory requirements, is paramount as we expand our expectations for food-grade product manufacturing. We are seeking a Senior Manager of Food Manufacturing Quality Assurance to spearhead our quality assurance processes, ensuring our products meet the highest standards of safety and quality. The role initially will cover beverage-making Thirsti products, but is expected to expand to cover all food and drink consumables within SharkNinja.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Quality Planning and Development Process Integration:
    1. Collaborate with the flavor development and New Product Development (NPD) teams to integrate quality assurance measures from the onset of product conceptualization.
    2. Ensure that all product designs and developments meet internal and external regulatory standards and quality expectations.
  1. Supplier Quality Management:
    1. Establish and maintain a comprehensive manufacturing quality control plan materials working with food-material production suppliers.
    2. Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) processes, conduct regular supplier audits, manage non-conformance issues, and spearhead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  1. Regional Manufacturing Support:
    1. Provide support for standard consumer goods manufacturing processes in North America, complementing the efforts of the primary manufacturing quality team based in Asia.
    2. Although not expected to be an expert in plastics or electrical components manufacturing, the familiarity to offer local support in these areas is beneficial.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Quality Management, or related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in quality assurance/quality control in the food manufacturing industry.
  • Deep understanding of FDA regulations and requirements for food-grade materials.
  • Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certifications preferred.
  • Experience with Flavor Manufacturing or Beverage industry is highly advantageous.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective quality control plans.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in RCA and CAPA methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and manage diverse teams.
  • Ability to travel as needed to supplier sites and provide hands-on quality assurance support, audit oversight.
  • Beneficial to have previous experience with:
    • HACCP/Food Safety
    • PCQI (Preventative Controls Qualified Individual)
    • Food Defense
    • GSFI Audit, SQF, FSSC22000 or BRC experience
    • Sensory evaluation training
    • Acidified Training/Certification

Expectations:

  • Hybrid applications accepted. Not accepting remote applications. The role will be instrumental in building new working processes and relationships and will need regular access to our management teams.
  • 25% travel.
