The Role

As Senior Manager, External Warehousing & Logistics, you will be responsible for defining and executing Genmab’s global external warehousing strategy across Europe and Rest of World (ROW). You will oversee a network of external partners, ensuring compliant, efficient, and scalable operations that support Genmab’s growing portfolio.

This role combines strategic leadership with operational oversight, driving supplier performance, ensuring inventory integrity and SOX and GxP compliance, and enabling continuous improvement across the end-to-end warehousing and distribution landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the global external warehousing strategy across Europe, US and ROW, ensuring scalability, compliance, and cost efficiency.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for external warehousing partners and logistics suppliers, owning relationships and driving alignment across the network.
  • Ensure alignment and efficiency of inbound and outbound logistics flows across global external warehouse providers.
  • Lead implementation, qualification, and validation activities at external warehousing partners, including negotiation and management of contracts and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Own supplier management, including performance monitoring, KPI governance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage the warehousing budget, ensuring cost control, transparency, and alignment with financial targets.
  • Ensure accurate and compliant inventory management across external warehouses, including reconciliation, cycle counting, and financial alignment.
  • Ensure adherence to SOX and GxP requirements and internal controls related to inventory, warehousing and distribution processes.
  • Drive process improvements and digitalization initiatives in collaboration with external partners to enhance efficiency and service quality.
  • Ensure GxP compliance across the external warehousing and distribution network in close partnership with Quality Assurance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, Quality, Finance, and Planning to align operations and mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Ensure maintenance and optimal performance of logistics-related systems (e.g., SAP ERP), including enhancements, testing, and validation.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, including significant exposure to external warehousing and logistics operations.
  • Proven experience in defining and executing supply chain or warehousing strategies at a regional or global level.
  • Strong expertise in inventory management, financial processes (incl. order-to-cash), and SOX/GxP compliance and internal controls.
  • Demonstrated experience in supplier and contract management, including negotiation and performance governance.
  • Experience managing budgets and driving cost optimization initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across functions and seniority levels.
  • Experience working in a global, matrix organization.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
  • Leadership experience (project and/or people management), with the ability to drive change and continuous improvement.
