As a Senior Manager within Business Bank’s Customer, Channels & Data AI Centre of Excellence, you’ll lead a team responsible for delivering high-impact AI and Generative AI solutions.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who can both lead people and build technology. You’ll turn ambiguous business opportunities into practical, well-designed solutions that are deployed, adopted and delivering measurable value.
You’ll stay close to the technical work, shaping architecture, prototyping critical components, reviewing designs and code, and helping teams solve complex delivery challenges. You’ll bring practical experience in agentic AI and the design and implementation of multi-agent systems.Success in this role requires a strong ownership mindset. You’ll create clarity where it doesn’t yet exist, remove roadblocks and drive outcomes from concept through to execution and business impact.
In this role, you will:
Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team of Data Scientists and AI specialists
Own strategic AI and GenAI initiatives from opportunity identification through to deployment, adoption and value realisation
Provide hands-on technical leadership across solution architecture, prototyping, design reviews and technical problem solving
Design and deliver agentic AI and multi-agent solutions using orchestration, tool calling, retrieval, reasoning and human oversight frameworks
Ensure solutions are production-ready, secure, scalable and maintainable
Establish robust GenAI evaluation approaches covering quality, safety, reliability, latency and business effectiveness
Partner across Product, Engineering, Architecture, Risk, Cyber and business teams to deliver end-to-end outcomes
Influence senior stakeholders by translating complex technical concepts into clear business decisions

Technical experience
We are looking for a leader who remains technically active and credible. You will not be expected to write every line of code, but you should be capable of diving into the detail, building prototypes, assessing technical quality and guiding the team through difficult implementation decisions.
Experience across several of the following areas will be highly regarded:
Agentic and multi-agent AI including orchestration, task decomposition, memory, routing and human-in-the-loop controls
Large language models, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation and structured outputs
GenAI evaluation frameworks covering safety, factuality, reliability and business outcomes
Python, APIs, CI/CD, automated testing and scalable service design
Machine Learning, Data Science and statistical modelling
MLOps and LLMOps including monitoring, deployment pipelines and continuous improvement
Enterprise cloud AI platforms
Responsible AI, governance, privacy and model risk management

Skills Required
- Proven experience leading, coaching and developing high-performing Data Science or AI teams
- Hands-on experience designing and delivering production Generative AI applications, particularly agentic or multi-agent systems
- Demonstrable personal technical contribution to AI delivery (architecture, prototyping, code reviews, troubleshooting)
- Track record taking complex AI solutions from ambiguous problem through to production deployment, adoption and measurable impact
- Strong Data Science and Machine Learning foundations including model development, experimentation and evaluation
- Practical software engineering and production delivery experience (Python, APIs, automated testing, version control, CI/CD)
- Experience with MLOps and LLMOps practices including model and prompt versioning, deployment pipelines, monitoring and incident management
- Experience with GenAI evaluation methods (groundedness, factuality, safety, latency, cost and business outcome measurement)
- Experience implementing and operating AI/ML workloads on enterprise cloud AI platforms
- Knowledge and application of responsible AI, model governance, privacy, security, explainability and human oversight
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and work across Product, Engineering, Architecture, Risk, Cyber and Legal
