Senior Manager, Data Engineering

   Responsibility

  • Architect and implement scalable cloud-based lakehouse/warehouse solutions(Databricks/AWS)
  • Design and optimize existing and future enterprise data models
  • Build and maintain high-performance batch and real-time data pipelines (ETL/ELT, streaming)
  • Implement effective data quality frameworks and monitoring
  • Establish CI/CD pipelines and DataOps best practices for automated and secure deployment
  • Implement data governance standards including cataloging, lineage, and metadata management
  • Design strong security controls and access management
  • Build the foundation for AI, automation, and advanced analytics initiatives
  • Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, setting technical standards and engineering best practices
  • Champion a culture of data excellence, accountability, and continuous innovation

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or related fields
  • 5+ years leading and developing technical teams
  • Deep expertise in SQL, cloud data platform and distributed data processing frameworks
  • Hands-on experience with modern cloud data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery)
  • Experience with ETL/ELT tools such as Alteryx and Informatica
  • Strong understanding of data modeling (dimensional modeling and semantic layers)
  • Experience with orchestration tools and data pipeline automation
  • Proven ability to build scalable, secure, and reliable enterprise data solutions
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to partner cross-functionally.

Pay Range:

P70-USA-1 :$130,850.00 - $186,900.00

Final base salary for the successful candidate will depend on multiple factors, including but not limited to, job location, where work will be performed, qualifications, work history and relevant experience. With our continual goal of making Lumentum a best place to work for our employees, we strive to offer employees competitive total compensation packages, which may include annual bonus, commission for certain sales roles, equity, and health and welfare benefits.
