Senior Manager Citizen Transformation - Fixed term until 31/12/2027
Waverley Court
Salary: £80,569- £96,423
Hours: 36 per week, 52 weeks per year
Could you help us transform Council services making them feel easier, kinder and more connected for everyone who lives, works in or visits Edinburgh?
People often come to Council services at moments that really matter — when they need help, answers, reassurance or support. We want those moments to feel less complicated and more human, and we are looking for someone who shares that care and ambition.
As Senior Manager, Citizen Transformation, you will help lead change that makes a real difference to people’s everyday lives and supports colleagues to deliver services with confidence, compassion and pride.
This is a role for a thoughtful, warm and imaginative leader — someone who listens well, brings people with them and can turn good ideas into practical improvements that matter.
What you will do
You will work alongside talented colleagues, partners, senior leaders and elected members to shape transformation programmes that improve how services are designed and delivered. You will encourage fresh thinking, use insight and technology well, and help build services that feel modern, inclusive and responsive.
What you will bring
We are looking for someone who has led complex change and understands how to support people through it. You will bring strong programme leadership, sound judgement and the ability to create trust, momentum and shared purpose.
Most of all, you will care deeply about public service and about the people behind every service we provide. You will know that the best change happens when colleagues feel involved, valued and inspired to make things better together.
Why join us?
You will join a supportive and ambitious service where your ideas, energy and leadership will be valued. This is an opportunity to help shape services that matter, support talented colleagues and leave a positive legacy for Edinburgh.
Would you like to help us make things better?
If you can imagine a better experience for the people we serve — and bring others with you to make it happen — we would love to hear from you.
Come and help us create services that feel easier, kinder and better connected for everyone in Edinburgh.
We are committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce where everyone feels valued and able to be their best. We particularly encourage applications from women for senior roles, as well as people from minority ethnic backgrounds, people with disabilities or neurodivergent people, care experienced people, carers and LGBT+ people across all levels of the organisation, all of whom are currently underrepresented. All applicants will be considered fairly based on skills and experience. Disabled and care-experienced applicants who meet the minimum job criteria will be guaranteed an interview.
