Provides subject matter expertise and program management support in the planning, coordination, execution, and continuous improvement of employee recognition, engagement, hospitality, and events programs for BMO Private Wealth. Supports the delivery of strategic initiatives and high-profile experiences that reinforce a culture of performance excellence, employee engagement, and alignment with BMO values.

Partners with Leaders, Communications, Marketing, Human Resources and external vendors to implement recognition and engagement programs, events, and employee experience initiatives. Works closely with senior program leaders to deliver business objectives while ensuring programs are executed effectively, consistently, and in accordance with established governance, risk, and budget requirements.

Coordinates end-to-end program execution, logistics, stakeholder communications, reporting, and participant experience for a portfolio of recognition and engagement initiatives. Provides recommendations and insights to support program enhancements and operational effectiveness.

Develops solutions and recommendations based on an understanding of business objectives, employee experience priorities, and stakeholder needs. Collaborates across BMO to support the successful delivery of programs and events that contribute to employee engagement and business results.

Key Accountabilities

Program Management & Delivery

  • Supports the planning, coordination, and execution of employee recognition, engagement, hospitality, and special event programs.
  • Manages assigned program components and event workstreams, ensuring activities are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned to program objectives.
  • Coordinates event logistics including registration, venue management, travel, accommodations, communications, materials, and attendee experience.
  • Supports the execution of employee lifecycle recognition activities including onboarding, milestone, service, and retirement recognition programs.
  • Develops event schedules, briefing materials, project plans, and implementation timelines to support successful delivery.
  • Identifies execution risks and issues and recommends solutions to support program success.

Stakeholder Support & Relationship Management

  • Partners with business leaders, Human Resources, Marketing, Communications, and external suppliers to support program delivery and participant engagement.
  • Serves as a key contact for program participants and stakeholders, responding to inquiries and coordinating resolution of issues.
  • Builds and maintains effective working relationships with vendors and service providers to support quality program execution.
  • Provides recommendations and operational support to leaders responsible for recognition and engagement strategies.
  • Represents BMO professionally in interactions with internal and external stakeholders.

Program Governance, Budget & Administration

  • Supports adherence to established governance processes, program guidelines, financial controls, and risk management requirements.
  • Tracks program budgets, monitors expenditures, reconciles invoices, and identifies opportunities for efficiencies and cost management.  
  • Maintains program documentation, records, approvals, and reporting to support audit and compliance requirements.
  • Assists in ensuring quality standards are maintained across all recognition and engagement initiatives.

Reporting & Insights

  • Monitors program participation, feedback, operational metrics, and budget performance.
  • Conducts analysis and prepares reports to support evaluation of program effectiveness and participant experience.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve processes, participant experience, and operational effectiveness.
  • Researches industry trends and best practices to support program enhancements and innovation.

Qualifications

  • Typically, between 5–7 years of relevant experience in event management, employee engagement, recognition programs, hospitality, marketing, human resources, or related disciplines, and a post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience managing complex events, recognition initiatives, or employee engagement programs.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong communication, relationship management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior leaders, internal partners, and external vendors.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to leverage data and insights to support decision-making.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering exceptional experiences.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Salary:

$61,600.00 - $113,900.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
