Job Responsibilities:
Mission of the Position:
The Senior Manager of Artificial Intelligence (AI) governs and program manages all AI initiatives across Operations, Engineering, and Corporate Functions. This role is central to the company's transformation strategy, ensuring that AI is deployed responsibly, efficiently, and in alignment with business priorities. The candidate will drive governance, coordinate cross-functional efforts, eliminate redundancy, and accelerate innovation by identifying, evaluating, and launching new AI opportunities.
This leader will act as the connective tissue across the organization-ensuring visibility, alignment, and disciplined execution of AI initiatives while also championing emerging technologies that can improve processes, enhance decision-making, and unlock new value.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Enterprise AI Leadership & Governance
  • Oversee all AI initiatives across Operations, Engineering, and Corporate Functions, ensuring alignment with enterprise strategy.
  • Establish and maintain governance frameworks that guide responsible and swift AI development, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Serve as a key leader in the company's transformation efforts, ensuring AI is embedded into strategic decision-making and process redesign.
  • Program Oversight & Reporting
  • Maintain a comprehensive view of all AI projects across the company, ensuring visibility, coordination, and prioritization.
  • Identify and eliminate redundant efforts, ensuring resources are used efficiently and strategically.
  • Provide clear, concise, and actionable updates to the AI Steering Committee every two weeks, including progress, risks, dependencies, and recommendations.
  • Process Improvement & Technology Integration
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Corporate teams to ensure technology-especially AI-is thoughtfully integrated into process improvement initiatives.
  • Evaluate current workflows and identify opportunities where automation, machine learning, or advanced analytics can drive measurable improvements.
  • Work with IT and IT providers to ensure delivery of business objectives.
  • Innovation, Research & External Scouting
  • Continuously scan the external landscape for emerging AI technologies, tools, vendors, and best practices.
  • Assess the applicability of new ideas and technologies to the company's business model and operational needs.
  • Lead the initiation of new AI projects, including experimental or exploratory pilots, to test and validate potential value.
  • Build relationships with external partners, research institutions, and industry groups to stay ahead of trends.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Act as a strategic advisor to business and technical leaders on AI opportunities, risks, and implementation strategies.
  • Facilitate collaboration across teams to ensure AI solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise architecture.
  • Support change management efforts to drive adoption and ensure successful implementation of AI-enabled solutions.

Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Business, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in AI, data science, digital transformation, or related technical leadership roles.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional programs or enterprise-level initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of AI technologies, machine learning concepts, automation, and data governance.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical topics into business language.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and drive alignment across diverse teams.

Preferred
  • Master's degree in a technical or business discipline.
  • Experience establishing or operating within AI governance frameworks.
  • Background in process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).
  • Experience evaluating emerging technologies and leading experimental or pilot initiatives.
  • Prior experience in a transformation or enterprise PMO environment.
