The Opportunity

The AI Foundations team sits at the core of this vision, driving innovation to make Adobe Express smarter, faster, and more adaptive. By developing modular, reusable AI systems and crafting a robust Horizon AI Stack, this team will play a pivotal role in transforming creative workflows. Joining this team means shaping the future of creativity, solving complex engineering challenges, and delivering scalable AI solutions that redefine what’s possible in design. This is also an opportunity to be the founding leadership team of AI Foundations in Adobe Express.

What You'll Do

  • This is a high-impact opportunity for someone passionate about AI, engineering innovation, and strategic alignment across diverse teams and technologies.
  • Cultivate strong partnerships with Adobe Research, AI Foundations Applied Research and Engineering teams and other partner teams shape the product vision, roadmap, and business strategy. In this capacity lot of research ideas, and business needs will have to be prioritized, prove out , so that they become mainstream in due course. This keeps the balance of research ideas to follow and business needs to be met.
  • Oversee all facets of ML product development and the software engineering lifecycle, including ML modeling, data/ML pipelines, and quality evaluations.
  • Recruit, lead, and mentor a team with varied strengths of ML engineers and data scientists.
  • Cultivate a team culture centered on meticulous scientific methods and deep customer engagement.
  • Promote an engineering culture that values innovation and creativity while ensuring high-quality, reliable product deliveries.
  • Lead project scope and address risks through data analytics and creative problem-solving.
  • Uphold engineering excellence in architecture, execution, and delivery.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, ML, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent technical experience.
  • At least 8 years of industry experience in machine learning, optimization algorithms, and/or deep-learning techniques.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing a team of ML and AI engineers.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Work experience in Creative Domains, Imaging Domains will be highly useful
  • Good exposure to LLMs and Diffusion Models
  • Experience developing large scale systems

  • Proven record of leading and managing engineering teams and fostering an innovative and collaborative environment.
  • Track record of delivering cloud-scale, data-driven products and services that are widely adopted with large customer bases.
  • A relentless pursuit of great customer experiences and continuous improvements to the product.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent speaking, writing, and presentation skills, and the ability to persuade, encourage, and empower others.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical internal partners and customers.
  • Advanced degree or equivalent experience in computer science or a related field of study.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several  U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $168,200 -- $340,100 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans.  Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
