About this opportunity:

To support Freenome’s rapid growth, we’re looking for a proven and collaborative Senior Manager, Accounting to join our team! This is a highly visible role that will support key financial reporting and compliance functions, including SEC reporting (10-K/10-Q filings and earnings releases), the SOX compliance, and revenue recognition activities. The ideal candidate is known as a solutions-oriented cross-functional partner and will have a significant impact on the continued growth of an organization dedicated to changing the entire landscape of cancer.

In this role, you will report directly to the Director, SEC Reporting and SOX Compliance and will closely collaborate with the accounting team. This role will be a Hybrid role based out of our Brisbane, California headquarters.

What you’ll do:

  • Play a key role in accounting and SEC reporting functions, ensuring compliance and accurate presentation of financial statements and disclosures in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC rules.
  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual internal financial statements as well as S-1, 10-Q, 10-K, and any other SEC required filings including footnote preparation.
  • Analyze peer company filings and industry reports to assess trends in financial disclosures.
  • Support the preparation of the quarterly earnings release and related documents.
  • Support revenue recognition and reporting including DSO analysis:
    • Revenue by product
    • Revenue by payors
    • Profit by product
    • Profit by Payors
  • Collaborate with the accounting team in the development of processes and procedures that support the implementation of SOX 404 and ensure reporting requirements related to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act are met.
  • Assist in the evaluation and continual improvement of accounting procedures, processes, and systems to ensure standardized close processes and efficient operations.
  • Support internal and external audits and regulatory examinations.
  • Support and execute on ad-hoc requests as assigned as necessary.

Must haves:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business.
  • Minimum of 6+ years of relevant accounting experience in a fast-paced, high- growth biotech, diagnostic, medical device environment.
  • Public accounting experience a plus.
  • Must have Xifin RCM experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP.
  • Strong accounting background with a good knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SOX 404, and SEC reporting standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically while maintaining a command of the details.
  • Ability to draft financial statements presentation and footnote disclosures as part of filings with the SEC (10-Q and 10-K).
  • Demonstrated ability to independently coordinate multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills enabling effective communications with all levels of management.
  • Proactive, organized, and takes ownership of projects and deadlines.
  • Meticulous and superior attention to details.
  • Strong work ethic including sound judgement, outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.
  • Continuous learning mindset with a passion for improving policies, procedures for compliance, effectiveness, and efficiency.

Nice to haves:

  • MBA or Big-4 a plus.
  • Industry experience in diagnostics.
  • Strong working knowledge of Netsuite.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work effectively, with exceptional cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.

Benefits and additional information:

The US target range of our base salary for new hires is $161,500 - $205,538. You will also be eligible to receive equity, cash bonuses, and a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits depending on the position offered.  Please note that individual total compensation for this position will be determined at the Company’s sole discretion and may vary based on several factors, including but not limited to, location, skill level, years and depth of relevant experience, and education.
