Nuna is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Manager, Accounting to help lead and scale our accounting organization. Reporting to the Controller, this role serves as a key finance leader responsible for strengthening accounting operations, driving technical accounting excellence, enhancing internal controls, and supporting business growth through scalable processes and systems.

The Senior Manager, Accounting will oversee critical accounting functions, ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, support ERP transformation initiatives, and partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to provide accurate financial reporting and operational insights.

• Lead, coach, and develop accounting team members while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Drive audit readiness initiatives and coordinate internal and external audit activities.
• Lead the design, implementation, and enhancement of Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR).
• Partner with leadership to develop scalable accounting processes and organizational capabilities.
• Contribute to accounting governance, policy development, and process standardization initiatives.

• Research, document, and implement complex accounting standards and technical accounting matters.
• Oversee compliance with ASC 606 Revenue Recognition and ASC 842 Lease Accounting requirements.
• Prepare technical accounting memorandums and support external reporting requirements.
• Monitor emerging accounting standards and assess impacts to the organization.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and support IFRS-related considerations where applicable.

• Oversee accounting activities related to revenue, inventory, fixed assets, leases, and Canadian operations.
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close deliverables.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Partner with operational leaders to investigate variances and improve financial transparency.
• Support continuous improvement across accounting processes and reporting.

• Partner with finance, IT, and business leaders on SAP and ERP transformation initiatives.
• Assess accounting impacts of process and system changes.
• Support system testing, implementation activities, and user adoption efforts.
• Lead process optimization and automation initiatives to improve efficiency, scalability, and control effectiveness.
• Drive standardization across accounting procedures and workflows.

• Collaborate closely with FP&A, Sales, Supply Chain, Warehouse Operations, Procurement, and external consultants.
• Support strategic company initiatives through financial expertise and accounting leadership.
• Provide guidance on accounting implications of business decisions and growth opportunities.
• Help strengthen communication and alignment across departments.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• 5-8+ years of progressive accounting experience with increasing leadership responsibilities.
• Experience managing and developing accounting professionals.
• Strong expertise in U.S. GAAP and technical accounting research and implementation.
• Experience with ASC 606 Revenue Recognition and ASC 842 Lease Accounting.
• Experience supporting ICFR, audit readiness, and financial compliance initiatives.
• Experience overseeing inventory, fixed assets, revenue accounting, and multi-entity accounting environments.
• Combination of public accounting and industry experience preferred.
• Experience supporting ERP implementations or business transformation projects preferred.
• SAP or SAP S/4HANA experience is highly desirable.

• Proven leadership and team development capabilities.
• Strong strategic thinking and ability to balance technical accounting requirements with business objectives.
• Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
• Strong project management, process improvement, and change management skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• High degree of integrity, accountability, and business acumen.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with SAP or comparable ERP systems preferred.
• Familiarity with automation, reporting, and process improvement technologies.
• Experience using AI tools to enhance analysis, efficiency, or process automation is a plus.
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and technologies.

• Full-time position based in San Diego, California.
• Domestic travel may be required based on business needs.
