Synechron is seeking an experienced Senior Mainframe Developer to lead and execute complex card migration projects. This role is crucial for ensuring the seamless transition and optimization of mainframe applications, directly contributing to the organization's strategic objectives by enhancing system performance and reliability. The successful candidate will drive development efforts, mentor junior developers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Software Requirements- Required Software Proficiency:
- COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS
- Experience with mainframe development tools
- Preferred Software Skills:
- Familiarity with modern development practices and tools
- Agile methodologies
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of mainframe applications with a focus on card migration projects.
- Analyze existing card systems to develop effective migration strategies, ensuring data integrity and system compatibility.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define project scope, and ensure successful project delivery.
- Develop and optimize code for performance and scalability.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during and post-migration.
- Document technical specifications, migration plans, and operational procedures.
- Stay updated with technological advancements and industry trends to recommend improvements.

- Minimum of 7 years of experience in mainframe development, specifically in card migration projects.

- Proven track record in leading development projects and mentoring junior team members.
- Develop and execute mainframe application migration strategies.
- Participate in daily stand-ups and project meetings.
- Review code and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with teams to resolve technical challenges and optimize processes.
- Provide status updates and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
- Certifications: Mainframe-related certifications are preferred.
