About the role:

We are seeking a Senior Mail Engineer to join our Workplace Services (WPS) Engineering team within Business Technologies. The team is responsible for delivering secure, reliable, and future-ready enterprise messaging services across SD Worx, supporting more than 10,000 employees internationally. In this role, you will take ownership of the engineering, security, and operational excellence of our enterprise mail environment. You will work with Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online technologies, mail security solutions, and mass mailing platforms while helping shape the future of enterprise messaging within SD Worx. Which tasks can you expect?

  • Manage, maintain, and improve the enterprise mail infrastructure supporting an international workforce.

  • Operate and optimize Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online mail services, including mail flow, connectors, and transport rules.

  • Strengthen the security posture of the mail environment using SPF, DKIM, DMARC, TLS, secure SMTP, and other email authentication technologies.

  • Manage and improve email security solutions, including anti-spam, anti-phishing, malware protection, and secure email gateways.

  • Support and optimize bulk communication and mass mailing platforms, ensuring deliverability and sender reputation.

  • Provide third-line support for complex mail delivery, routing, authentication, and security-related issues.

  • Contribute to the simplification, standardization, and documentation of the mail landscape.

  • Collaborate with Product Owners, security teams, infrastructure teams, vendors, and support teams to improve platform reliability and security.

  • Support projects, upgrades, migrations, and service improvement initiatives.

  • Act as a point of contact for integrations between mail platforms and other enterprise services.

  • Participate in the future roadmap and evolution of enterprise messaging services.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, standards, and operational handover materials.

What do you have to offer?

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with enterprise messaging platforms and mail infrastructure.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online administration.

  • Solid understanding of mail flow, connectors, transport rules, and hybrid messaging environments.

  • Proven experience troubleshooting complex mail delivery, routing, and authentication issues.

  • Hands-on expertise with email security technologies such as SPF, DKIM, DMARC, TLS, and secure SMTP.

  • Experience working with secure email gateways and anti-spam, anti-phishing, and malware protection solutions.

  • Knowledge of mass mailing platforms, sender reputation management, and email deliverability best practices.

  • Experience providing third-line support and working within incident, problem, and change management processes.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.

  • Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience working in Agile and international environments.

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and continuously drive improvements.
