The role
Infinite Reality is looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join the world builder team to spearhead the design and development of procedural 3D model editing and generation pipelines. You’ll collaborate closely with technical artists, designers, and engineers to integrate intelligent agent behavior into our Houdini-based toolchain and ensure scalability, creativity, and coherence in the worlds we generate. This role is remote in the continental US and reports to David Gordon, Director of Engineering.
What you’ll do
- Design, implement, and refine ML-driven systems for procedural content generation, focusing on 3D models and environments.
- Integrate machine learning agents into Houdini-based pipelines to control or guide procedural generation processes.
- Develop internal tools and infrastructure that allow for scalable, flexible, and creative automation in the asset and scene creation process.
- Leverage MCP (Model Context Protocol) systems to build an interface between Houdini and a multi-agent system.
- Collaborate with artists and engineers to translate high-level creative goals into robust procedural logic and intelligent systems.
- Evaluate and prototype new ML models and agent strategies for tasks such as layout, material generation, hard surface modeling, and more.
What you’ll bring
- A Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a similar field is required.
- 5+ years of experience in applied machine learning, with demonstrated production-ready deployments.
- Expertise in Python and familiarity with Python based agent frameworks (Langgraph, Pydantic AI, Langchain, etc.)
- Deep experience with Houdini, especially in procedural modeling, VEX/Python scripting, and HDA development.
- Familiarity or hands-on experience with MCP or similar agent-based platforms for creative/interactive AI workflows.
- Strong understanding of procedural content generation, including rule-based and data-driven systems.
- Ability to work autonomously and iterate rapidly in experimental and creative environments.
We’ll be extra pumped if you have
- Experience in game development, virtual production, or digital worldbuilding at scale.
- Background in computer graphics, generative design, or simulation.
- Experience deploying ML models within a 3D content pipeline.
- Familiarity with real-time engines (e.g., Unreal, Unity) is a plus.
Base pay will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, certifications, experience, market demands, and locations.
