The Role
Build, optimize, and embed machine learning models for on-device inference within a Go-based detection engine. Own models end-to-end: deploy, monitor performance, detect drift, iterate, and resolve production issues while collaborating with systems engineers and stakeholders.
Summary Generated by Built In

Qohash is building the zero copy data security control layer, enterprises need to adopt AI safely.

Our platform, Qostodian, helps large organizations discover, classify, govern, and remediate sensitive unstructured data across their most critical data sources without moving or copying the data. This zero copy architecture reduces exposure, preserves data sovereignty, and allows enterprises to secure data directly where it lives.

This matters because AI adoption is increasing the risk, complexity, and urgency of enterprise data security. Before organizations can safely deploy AI agents, copilots, retrieval systems, or automated workflows, they need to know where sensitive data lives, who and what can access it, and how to enforce controls at scale.

Company culture is at our core

About the team

We are standing up a new team for the QSIDS (Qohash Sensitive Information Detection System) launch, dedicated to the detection engine. A central focus of this team is the integration of embedded AI, machine learning models that run directly on the device and in-system. It is about high-performance, low-resource, on-device inference, embedded into the detection engine itself. The engine is built in Go, with a strong emphasis on performance and minimal resource footprint.

Who you are

You're a hands-on Go developer who likes living close to the metal - profiling hot paths, trimming allocations, and making concurrent systems behave predictably under load. You enjoy integration work: wiring components, native libraries, and models into a coherent engine, and making the seams disappear. You take pride in owning what you ship, watching how it behaves in production and iterating to keep it fast and reliable. You bring strong engineering fundamentals, write tests as a matter of course, and collaborate naturally, helping the team converge on quality decisions. You're comfortable with the pace and ambiguity of a startup, and you care about the outcome, not just the code.

What you will do
  • Design and build a highly efficient cross-platform detection engine for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  • Integrate embedded machine learning models into the engine for on-device inference, and own the runtime, bindings, and data paths that make them work in-system.
  • Collaborate closely with machine learning and systems colleagues to turn models into production-ready components.
  • Optimize end to end for latency, memory footprint, and CPU — profiling, benchmarking, and tuning both engine code and model execution.
  • Own features all the way to production including instrumenting, monitoring, and iterating to keep them reliable.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define milestones and ensure timelines align with development needs.
  • Participate in discussions on technological choices and decisions regarding product development.
  • Resolve anomalies and problems as soon as they arise.
  • Help onboard and train colleagues as the team grows.
  • Communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
What your resume shows

Must Haves

  • 7+ years' experience building and shipping production software in Go
  • Strong systems programming fundamentals - memory management, concurrency, profiling, and software optimization in performance-sensitive, resource-constrained environments
  • Hands-on track record owning code post-deployment: instrumenting, debugging, and iterating on live systems
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)

Nice to Haves

  • Experience embedding ML models for on-device inference (a strong asset for this role)
  • Experience with Rust, C/C++ or another low-level systems language
  • Experience building, training, or optimizing machine learning models, including compression, quantization, and tuning for low-latency inference
  • Bilingual (French and English)
  • Experience working in a startup environment
What's in it for you?
  • Competitive salary range.
  • Enjoy up to six weeks of paid time off annually. At Qohash, we recognize your dedication and believe in giving you ample time to rejuvenate.
  • Comprehensive health benefits package, including life insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, paramedical and telemedicine services, and an HSA account.

Qohash is an Equal Opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, colour, religion, national origin, disability, protected Veteran status, age, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law. A working proficiency in English is required for this position based on the company’s operational requirements. Only those candidates selected for interview will be contacted.

Skills Required

  • 7+ years' experience building and shipping machine learning models to production, including deploying, running, and monitoring them in live environments
  • Hands-on track record owning models post-deployment: monitoring performance, detecting drift, and iterating on production systems
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
