Amentum is currently seeking a Senior Linux System Administrator to provide software testing for our award-winning team.
Senior Linux System Administrator Responsibilities Include:
- Providing customer service, IT and Software testing support for software development lab in Dahlgren, VA to support Naval Surface Warfare Center development lab.
- Managing multiple priorities from user needs, to upgrade requirements for the lab, to test weapon system maintenance software updates.
- Working with a small team of software engineers and data scientists to support exciting research-related software work.
- Available to support Software Lab in Dahlgren, VA between 8-5 M-F with occasional flexibility to work some evening hours approaching inspections, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in technical field
- Five (5) + years’ experience in Systems Administration.
- In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, the qualifying candidate must possess a high school diploma or equivalent education and an additional 7 years of work experience in IT
- DOD 8570.01 M Level 2 or ability to obtain CompTIA Security+ or equivalent that meets IT Level 2 either at or within one (1) month of start.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance (at a minimum, must receive/be approved for an interim Secret security clearance in order to start) Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance.
- IT Level 2; 7 or more years of equivalent experience administering Linux/Window systems.
- Candidates must maintain a valid Real ID driver’s license required for access to customer site and have access to reliable transportation (rideshare options such as Uber, Lyft etc. are not permitted) as this position requires occasional travel between local worksites during the week.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience configuring and maintaining Linux servers and tools in support of software development; to include scripting to automation tasks;
