As a  Senior  Legal Counsel We are seeking a high performing senior legal counsel to join our global legal team based in Bangalore. We work very closely with management, product, business and engineering teams as well as other functional teams to support Truecaller’s continued growth, while at the same time ensuring compliance with legal requirements and internal control. You will report to the Chief Legal Officer based in Sweden.

What you’ll do: 

You will be handling Truecaller’s legal and compliance matters with focus on our Enterprise business. Our legal team covers multiple jurisdictions albeit the main focus for this role will be our business in India.

 You will work in close collaboration with colleagues in different locations  with the following main responsibilities

Commercial

• Draft, negotiate and provide legal assistance with commercial / SaaS contracts and partnerships with a focus on India but in multiple markets
• Develop trusted relationships and collaborate with internal stakeholders with focus on Enterprise business unit
• Develop templates and improve processes with support of Legal AI tools
• Support in intellectual property matters and disputes

Compliance

• Analysing product developments to ensure  compliance with applicable laws and regulations especially in India

Privacy

•  Working with the rest of the Legal Team on data privacy matters and implementing necessary actions internally
•  Updating policies based on legal requirements and changes in the product.

Product

• Review of product functionality and new product features and design to ensure it aligns with legal requirements 
• Responding to and managing any potential legal disputes and litigation.

Miscellaneous

• Responding to and managing any potential legal disputes and litigation
• In addition, there will be a myriad of other legal matters to be handled from time to time which makes working here even more challenging and fun as one day will never be the same as the next.

What you bring in: 

• 5+  Years of exp
• Law school degree from India with a minimum of five years of relevant working experience as an  in-house counsel and/or from  reputable law firms in India
• Strong knowledge and skills in commercial contracts with an emphasis on enterprise and SaaS matters
•  Strong negotiation and communication skills
•  Strong time management and ability to work independently
•  Strong skills in analysing and interpreting advanced contractual relationships and  monitoring the regulatory environment in which we operate
•  A strong sense of personal integrity and good personal judgement.
