General Description
As a Legal Counsel at Tencent you will be a key member of a growing team of in-house attorneys advising Tencent’s international business, marketing, and operations teams as they interact with companies around the world. You will have a ground level opportunity to support one of the largest internet companies in the world in areas such as gaming, cloud computing, media, technology, and general compliance work.
Responsibilities
- Advise Tencent’s game business teams in Korea on legal and business issues. Support game operational legal matters in Korea.
- Negotiate, draft, and review IP licensing agreements, service agreements, advertising agreements and other general commercial agreements with Korean local partners and vendors.
- Ensure compliance with Korean, US, European, and other international laws and regulations.
- Support Tencent’s invested game studios in Korea.
- Cooperate with other Tencent attorneys based in Asia, Europe and the US.
- Manage outside counsels.
Requirements:
Requirements
- Education: Juris Doctor or LLM.
- Strong transactional and technology licensing experience.
- Years of Experience: 5+ years’ work experience in a law firm or in-house legal department.
- Bar: Admitted to relevant bar.
- Working Language: Korean and English (Mandarin Chinese preferred).
Preferred
- Technical background (Computer Science or EE).
- Gaming, and/or entertainment law experience.
- Privacy law experience
