About Robin AI

Robin AI is on a mission to revolutionize the legal industry by simplifying contracts and making law accessible to everyone. We utilize cutting-edge machine learning and contract software, enhancing traditional legal services and bringing together experts in engineering, AI, and law. Robin AI has recently raised $26m in Series B funding and has seen an impressive 5x revenue growth in the last 12 months.

We're looking for passionate, resourceful and collaborative people to join Robin. If you're motivated about leveraging technology to make essential business services more accessible, come join us!

About this role

This role is within the Legal and Product Team at Robin, and will involve working directly with investment teams at some of the world’s largest private equity and debt funds, financial institutions and corporates as they explore transaction opportunities. As an experienced legal professional, you will have responsibility for reviewing and negotiating transactional documents, alongside the opportunity to hire and develop junior talent. In addition, Robin offers fantastic opportunities for personal career development in a variety of areas alongside traditional legal work, including client onboarding and management, product development and ongoing customer success.

This role will suit an experienced legal professional (whether a career paralegal, attorney or associate) who might be considering a position within a legal team at an investment bank, fund or asset management company. At Robin we are proud to call a large number of these institutions our clients, and our core transactional work covers many of the same areas and document types – but we work in a much more modern, creative and flexible way!

What you'll do

  • Reviewing and negotiating contracts such as confidentiality agreements, engagement letters and release letters, using a combination of Robin’s AI technology and your own legal experience.
  • Helping establish and agree contract playbooks with current and new clients.
  • Reviewing the work of junior team members and assisting with their professional development and ongoing training (all of which will also be available to you).
  • Testing Robin’s technology products and feeding back issues, bugs and areas for improvement to our engineering and machine learning teams.
  • Helping to interview and hire new talent in the New York office.
  • As Robin continues to experience success, you will also have the chance to get involved in exciting business-related projects, including helping to support our future fundraising rounds.

Qualifications

You will have at least 1-3 years’ experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating the core transactional documents regularly encountered by our clients (including confidentiality agreements, engagement letters and release letters). You will have previously worked with private equity, asset management or hedge fund clients, whether in-house, at a service provider or at a law firm, and will understand typical fund transaction structures and timelines.

You will enjoy taking the initiative and seeking answers to interesting practical and legal issues. You will be both technical and commercial, both in the practice of law and outside of it. You will be interested in developing your client management skills at a faster pace than might be possible elsewhere, and ideally, you’ll be looking forward to taking ownership of some of our client relationships in due course. Last (but certainly not least), you will be motivated by working in a fast-paced, diverse and intellectually challenging environment where collaboration between lawyers and non-lawyers is essential to achieving results.

Compensation at Robin AI

  • Salary: $130,000-$200,000 depending on experience.
  • Generous Equity package: When you help build Robin AI, everyone deserves to be an owner.
  • Please Note: If your salary expectations look a little different to that outlined, we’d still be keen to hear from you if this is a role that excites you and one that you think you could really excel in.
