Help us take If Business from Denmark across the Nordics.

We've recently launched If Business in Denmark, our mobile application for B2B customers in the small and medium enterprise segment. Now we're looking for four Mobile Software Engineers to help us take the product to other Nordic markets.

The product is live, the platform is new, and the Nordic journey is just beginning. You'll have the opportunity to influence how our React Native and Expo platform evolves, how we use AI in our engineering craft, and how we scale a shared mobile platform across applications and markets. And you'll do it with the scale and stability of the largest insurer in the Nordics behind you.

We're looking for both senior engineers and mid-level developers eager to grow.

About the role

You'll join our Mobile Tribe and work on a new mobile platform built from the ground up this year. Our core stack is React Native, Expo, and TypeScript, and we're actively exploring how AI can improve both our engineering practices and the customer experience. We want engineers who contribute their thinking, not only their code.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Building and evolving If Business using React Native, Expo, and TypeScript
  • Helping scale the application across Nordic markets
  • Influencing our mobile architecture, tooling and engineering practices
  • Taking ownership from understanding the problem through implementation, release and production
  • Own quality through automated testing, code reviews, observability, and monitoring
  • Working closely with product, design, backend engineers and other specialists in a cross-functional squad
  • Experimenting with AI-native engineering practices and explore how AI can create value in mobile customer journeys
  • Contributing to our shared mobile platform and, where it makes sense, upstream to the technologies we use

Our stack:

  • Mobile: React Native, Expo, TypeScript
  • Backend: C#/.NET BFF (Backend-for-frontend), REST APIs
  • Cloud: Microsoft Azure
  • DevOps: GitHub, CI/CD, Expo Application Services (EAS), automated testing
  • Observability: Sentry, expo-observe
  • AI engineering: GitHub Copilot and evolving AI-native engineering practices

We offer

Here are some of the benefits of working at If:

  • An inclusive work environment where everyone is welcome
  • Career and development opportunities in the biggest insurance company in the Nordics
  • Social activities and a highly skilled professional environment
  • Possibility of a hybrid workplace
  • A health-promoting workplace with e.g., fitness programs and various sports activities
  • Attractive insurance benefits
  • Lunch benefit

About the team

You’ll join the Commercial App squad within our Mobile Tribe, part of the IT Sales & Services unit. The squad currently consists of six people based in Finland and Denmark, working together across disciplines to build and evolve If Business mobile app.

We value openness, collaboration and curiosity. We like people who bring ideas forward, explore different solutions and take ownership, while working together and helping each other succeed.

With four new engineers joining, you’ll also have a real opportunity to shape how the team works and the engineering culture we build together.

Who are you?

We value people who are curious, collaborative and comfortable taking initiative. You don't need to have all the answers, but we expect you to be interested in finding them. Technical skills matter, but how you work with others matters just as much.

We also care about your growth. Whether you're joining us as a senior engineer or want to grow into one, we want you to keep developing your craft and taking on greater responsibility over time.

You have:

  • A strong foundation in mobile engineering
  • Solid hands-on experience with React Native and TypeScript/JavaScript
  • Experience building and maintaining production mobile applications
  • Experience with Expo, or strong React Native experience and the ability to get productive with Expo quickly
  • A strong engineering mindset around quality, maintainability, and secure mobile development
  • Curiosity about your craft and how AI is changing software engineering
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to share ideas and challenge things constructively
  • The initiative to take ownership and help move things forward

Experience with EAS, App Store/Google Play releases, native iOS/Swift, Android/Kotlin, C#/.NET, Azure, or AI-powered customer experiences is considered a plus.
