THE FUTURE OF ARCHITECTURE

Sid is a startup incubated within DP Architects that’s building tech at the forefront of architecture. We have already released NimbleFaçade, the easiest way to automatically calculate the efficiency of building façades, but that’s just the start. We are developing proprietary AI-driven technology to process all kinds of construction data, which we are using to power many more products at various stages of development. This is not your average architectural practice playing lip service to digital transformation. We are a revenue-generating startup, backed by a global architecture firm, building technology for how architects and engineers will get their work done in the years to come.

Sid exists to make supercharged technology accessible to architects, engineers, and built-environment professionals — empowering them to do their best work, transform their profession, and uplift the lives of everyone in the buildings they create.

JOB SUMMARY:You’d be working with users at DP Architects, partner organisations and Sid’s customers to build products on top of our underlying technology, as well as improving that technology where needed. We build and validate ideas quickly before deploying and scaling them as we roll out to more users. You’ll be helping us across the whole lifecycle so, while you will primarily be building web apps using TypeScript and Angular, you’ll also be involved in shaping the product itself.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Architect, design and build high-quality software at all parts of the lifecycle from prototypes, production through iteration
• Build both the Angular frontends and the RESTful APIs that power them
• Get involved in every aspect of the software development lifecycle, we’re a small team so you’ll need to manage your own time well
• Contribute to technical architecture and systems design, helping to set high standards for yourself and the team
• Collaborate with other engineers as well as product, design, architects and clients to scope the solution so that what you build solves real pain points
• We use LLMs to help us write code, but you should understand and approve every line of code that you push

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Strong understanding of TypeScript and a frontend framework (we use modern Angular but it’s easy to pick up if you know React)
• Good knowledge of databases (we primarily use Postgres, but an understanding of different databases is a plus!)
• Experience with CI/CD, Git, deploying to cloud environments and scaling production systems
• As a bonus, experience with Python (many of the behind-the-scenes processing is done via Python, though we can help you upskill if you don’t have a good grasp of Python!)
• As a bonus, any experience with construction engineering or 3D modelling software
• Communication is important within a small team and is a core skill for this role alongside technical knowledge
• Despite being incubated within DP Architects we are a startup, any experience with a fast-paced environment where priorities shift often is a plus
