About the role:

• Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs and modifies software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked or Internet-related computer programs. (Code must be used in core version of applications available for sale commercially.)
• Interacts with product managers and/or users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.
• Participates in software design meetings and analyzes user needs to determine technical requirements.
• Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements.
• Writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of applications using current programming languages and technologies.
• Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.

About the team: 

• Our Team does enhancement and support for FIS Securities Processing Manager “PHASE3” product, which is a real-time order-to-settlement securities processing system used by broker/dealers and correspondent clearings firms.

What you will be doing:

• At FIS we are looking for an experienced in HP Tandem COBOL programmer to join PHASE3 team.
• Knowledge of HP Tandem utilities, FUP, TACL, Pathway, Batchcom, SQL language is expected.
• The successful candidate will work on Enhancement and Support projects for the Product.
• Support FIS solutions and ensure the quality and utilization of FIS products satisfy client needs.
• Recreate, document client issues, and troubleshoot problems to support product quality.

What you will need:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other related discipline or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.

Competencies

• Experience – 6+ years.
• Fluent in English.
• Excellent communicator – ability to discuss technical and commercial solutions to internal and external parties and adapt depending on the technical or business focus of the discussion.
• Attention to detail – track record of authoring high quality documentation.
• Organized approach – manage and adapt priorities according to client and internal requirements.
• Self-starter but team mindset - work autonomously and as part of a global team.
