About the role:.

• Develop and support PL-SQL/Java development for the GTAS application
• Design technical and functional solutions and implement the same in Transfer Agency and Digital Products.

What you will be doing:

• Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs and modifies software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked or Internet-related computer programs.
• Interacts with product managers and/or users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.
• Participates in software design meetings and analyzes user needs to determine technical requirements.
• Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements.
• Writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of applications using current programming languages and technologies
• Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.
• Participate in coding and enhancements
• Tune, script, and extract, transform, and load

What you will need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
• 8+ yrs exp as Oracle /PL-SQL & Java Development.
• Proficient in PL-SQL programming
• Good knowledge of database, especially with Oracle
• Be the go-to expert for Oracle and PL/SQL

• Strong understanding of Design patters in PL-SQL/Java / JavaScript
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming
• Strong understanding of relational databases (including tables, views, indexes, table spaces)
• Knack for writing clean, readable code.
• Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application.
• Good knowledge and understanding of Oracle API’s
• Help determine best design approaches
• Support daily business operations related systems
• Run systems manually (test files, re-runs, ) for exception cases
• Should have exposure to Unix and shell scripting
• Development and support Applications and services as specified by our business partners
• Experienced in the Development and support of Java Web Applications and services as specified by our business partners
• Ability to work in an agile development environment where developers and testing personnel work closely together to ensure requirements are met or exceeded.
• Ability to demonstrate interpersonal and teambuilding skills working with technical and non-technical individuals.

Added bonus if you have:

• Exposure to powerhouse or any other 4GL language, core Java is an added advantage
• Exposure to the financial domain is an added advantage
• Experience of Agile Scrum will be an added advantage
• Fluent in English
• Excellent communicator – ability to discuss technical and commercial solutions to internal and external parties and adapt depending on the technical or business focus of the discussion.
• Organized approach – manage and adapt priorities according to client and internal requirements.
• Self-starter but team mindset - work autonomously and as part of a global team
