We are looking to hire a Senior Java Engineer to join an innovative project in the healthcare domain for one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys solving complex problems, and is passionate about delivering impactful solutions - especially in the healthcare and life sciences domain.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop modern, scalable, and high-performing enterprise applications
Review and analyze business requirements and provide a technical perspective on approach, risk, and estimated development time
Produce high-quality code implementing all security principles
Mentor other developers and participate in code reviews
Participate successfully in an established daily Scrum process and communicate frequently with clients and subject matter experts
Required Experience & Qualifications
5+ years of experience with Java (11+) and microservices architecture, including hands-on work with Spring Boot and Spring Data
Strong experience designing, implementing, and documenting RESTful APIs using OpenAPI / Swagger
Demonstrated knowledge of implementing OAuth2 / JWT-based authentication
Solid expertise in Apache Kafka and event-driven architectures
Practical exposure to AWS cloud services and deploying applications in Kubernetes environments
Strong familiarity with NoSQL databases, including query optimization and execution plan analysis
Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions
Strong background in writing unit tests and end-to-end (E2E) tests for large-scale systems
Proven track record of delivering complex software solutions to production across multiple environments
Effective communicator and collaborative team player with a growth-oriented mindset
Excellent spoken and written English language skills
A significant advantage would be
Experience in healthcare-related projects, especially involving compliance (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR)
Familiarity with microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
Proficiency with Flyway or Liquibase
Experience leading technical initiatives or epics
Hands-on knowledge of logging and monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Splunk, Dynatrace, etc.)
