Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

In your role as a Capital Markets/Securities Lending Senior Java Developer VP, you will be at the core of our Capital Markets technology platform, supporting critical Stock Loan and Equity Finance businesses globally. In this individual contributor role, you’ll work closely with trading, product, and technology teams, taking an active role to design and build high-performance systems, influence architectural decisions, and deliver scalable front-office solutions with real business impact using your advance Java development skills.

To be successful in your role as a Capital Markets/Securities Lending Senior Java Developer VP, you should have:

  • Significant experience working within Capital Markets/ Securities Lending with good knowledge of Stock Loan and Equity Finance products across asset classes

  • Advanced Java development, including multi-threading, memory management, and performance tuning

  • Experience designing and building enterprise applications using Spring Boot and the broader Spring ecosystem

  • Experience developing and optimizing relational database solutions using Microsoft SQL Server

  • Experience building message-driven and asynchronous systems using technologies such as JMS, Solace, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ

Other highly valued skills may include:

  • Designing and operating microservices-based architectures in Java and Spring Boot

  • Deploying applications on cloud platforms and using containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes

  • Implementing automated testing, TDD practices, and CI/CD pipelines

  • Using Git and structured branching strategies in large-scale development environments

  • Applying good analytical and problem-solving skills to complex technical and business challenges

This role is located in New York, NY.

Minimum Salary: $170,000.00
Maximum Salary: $230,000.00

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.
